Fair enough. Here are 551 other sources for you to pick from.GabonX wrote: How do we know that she was pardoning a turkey in this video? A caption on a biased website is hardly reliable when there's nothing in the video to indicate that that's what was happening.

You are correct of course. I am sure there are plenty of people watching it saying YOU GO SARAH!! CHOP THEM TURKEYS HEADS OFF YOURSELF!! YEE HAAAAAAAWWW!!!!GabonX wrote:Half of the country will have one view of this and the other won't see it as such a bad thing.

You had better hope Obama does a good job because if not their will be a conservative backlash to Obama in 2012 as bad as the liberal backlash to Bush in 2008, and her name is Sarah Palin...Backglass wrote:You are correct of course. Thankfully, those people will no longer be in power soon.
It's not even a partisan thing here, we're basically just talking about somebody who furiously refuses to get that she's a national embarrassment. She's like any number of tired celebs who don't get that the only reason people really wants them around isto laugh at her.luns101 wrote:Backglass, you do realize that your side won the election, right? Thank You.Curmudgeonx wrote:The point was the moronic irony that Palin is at a turkey farm trying to look presidential (since it is a fifty+ year tradition that the sitting US President pardons a turkey on Thanksgiving) by pardoning a turkey only to have a turkey getting its head ground off in the background.
On this we agree...except it wasn't a "liberal backlash"...but an "American People" backlash.GabonX wrote:You had better hope Obama does a good job because if not their will be a conservative backlash to Obama in 2012 as bad as the liberal backlash to Bush in 2008
Her chances are now nil with just about everyone, except for the evangelical bible thumpers. The more she speaks, the more normal Americans see her for the nut job she is.GabonX wrote:and her name is Sarah Palin...

Well I certainly don't fall in the bible thumper category, and to discount the weight that they pull in the national election shows a fundamental lack of understanding regarding American politics. The religious right, aside from instances like this election where their vote was split between two candidates, essentially chooses the Republican candidate.Backglass wrote:Her chances are now nil with just about everyone, except for the evangelical bible thumpers. But hey! Keep the dream alive!![]()
I am 100% certain that there are many Democratic/Communists that eat turkey, not just Sarah Palin and the Republican/NeoCons. Basically, if you eat meat, you are just as guilty of killing the animal as the butcher. I assume that BG is a vegan and therefore is qualified to pass judgment on all the carnivorous rednecks that scream YEE HAAAAAAW when they chop turkey heads off so that the more sophisticated carnivores in society don't have to bloody their hands for a Thanksgiving dinner?Backglass wrote:You are correct of course. I agree with your points except with #3. I found the interview entertaining, that's what politics is all about nowadays, isn't it? Entertaining?PLAYER57832 wrote:GabonX wrote:

#1. She believes the Earth is less than 10,000 years old ... something completely DISPROVEN by science. (It is certainly possible that evolution is wrong, but not that it is only 10,000 years old)
#2. She knows almost nothing about international politics.
#3. She is dumb enough to pose for a "pardon the turkey" shot without even making sure that there won't be a turkey killed in the background.
Mr. Ronald Reagan would be EXTREMELY disappointed! ... and so would Mr Swartznegger, to boot!
I'd say there are plenty of better candidates out there.

Unless he screws up royally (and I do mean royally) I don't think the backlash would ever be as bad as Bush's. Also If its within my power, I would never allow Palin to become president.GabonX wrote:The power sways back and forth in this country. Huh? She needed no help..she did fine all by herself. Did you not see ANY of her interviews and bizzarre answers? Or the DEBATE? Don't tell me you are one of those those still claim "She Won!" after THAT abortion.GabonX wrote:and I fully expect people to apply more scrutiny to the biased media forces which were in full throttle attempting to discredit her by means of slander.
Among many other things, it appears that she either doesn't think before she speaks, or doesn't know WHAT she thinks. Over & over again when asked a question, she would ramble on without substance. Oh, she can rally a crowd with rhetoric and snippy jokes...she's a winner in that catagory. But when asked specific questions during an interview, she falls on her face. I think she is full of shit, personally. McCain I could have lived with had he won. Her? No way.GabonX wrote:What specific issues do you have with her that do not apply to other Republicans?

Despite months of intentional negative press, she still maintains a 68% approval rating according to Ivan Moore Research
As of September/October 2008, Rasmussen Reports ranked all 50 governors approval ratings and broke them down into the following categories: Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor
Only Bobby Jindal of Louisiana outperforms her in the Excellent rating with 50% compared to Palin's 46%.
Rasmussen Reports rankings of 50 state governors approval ratings
Quinnipiac shows Charlie Crist tied with her at 68%
...all polls conducted by people within their respective states, not ones skewed by people living outside those states as CNN, NBC, and USA TODAY like to do.
