Smoking marijuana when you have a kid to take care of is just unresponsible. Please, don't do it.Effects of Exposure During Pregnancy wrote:Several studies have found that children born to mothers who used marijuana during pregnancy exhibit some problems with neurological development. According to those studies, prenatal marijuana exposure can cause:
Altered responses to visual stimuli
Increased tremulousness
Problems with sustained attention and memory
Poor problem-solving skills

Anyways, there are numerous negative effects of marijuana, not the least of which is its addictive quality. At the very least, make sure the mother doesn't smoke or partake in any other drug use (tabacco and alcohol included) while she is with child.Smoking marijuana when you have a kid to take care of is just unresponsible. Forgive me if I'm not going to take medical advice from a 16 year old father who doesn't know how to use proper sentences.
browng-08 wrote:Stephan, you're fifteen. 15. You're still a kid! FIFTEEN! Don't assume you know everything about this, and that the rest of us are just brainwashed by 'government propaganda'. You're not the only one out there with experience or 'research' with marijuana. I have no problem with people choosing to engage in drugs, but this is not the time. You have a kid on the way. A kid you have to provide for at the age of fifteen. Throwing marijuana into the mix is just about one of the worst things you could do. (okay, I exagerrate...)
You seriously need to look at it this way: what effect does marijuana have? Surely you don't believe the government made up the part where it obliterates your motivation? Cuts your long-term memory?
And yes, marijuana is addictive.

it is not harm full dont be fooled by lies there are no sideffects and has medical uses

QFT! Even if you don't believe all the 'negative effects', you should be able to realize that being high when you have a kid to take care of is negligent parenting.Ditocoaf wrote:Stephan:
I smoke mj fairly often myself, but I would never smoke around a little kid. While the effects themselves may be fairly harmless, the smoke is just as bad for your lungs as tobacco smoke, and little kids and babies are especially susceptible to lung damage from stuff like that. Also, being high or drunk when you're supposed to be taking care of a kid is called bad parenting. Though you may be fine personally, you aren't nearly as able to take care of a kid when you're stoned.

i was defending that it is ok to smoke pregnant and the baby to inhale anything would be unlitley anyway
and wait a min i thought everyone said i was full of shit
And that's really bad for the baby. Think about it this way: a lightweight person gets really fucked up with very little, right? Well, not only is a baby the _ultimate_ lightweight, the baby is still developing! Don't drink or smoke while pregnant, and don't support the mother of your child doing so!black elk speaks wrote:Sure, if you smoked three ounces of MJ a day, it would be bad for your lungs... but typically, you wouldn't do that even if you were a heavy pot smoker. That old story about how a marijuana cigarette being as bad ass 20 regular cigarettes is bullocks. True, being high around your kids is not a bad idea, but I drink around my kids... I actually would rather that they see a responsible approach to alcohol than no approach to it at all. My hope is that when they grow up and are offered alcohol at parties and the like, they will remember what it was like to watch me and think... yeah, maybe I can have a beer... maybe two.
