Given that there seems to be a great deal of antagonism between mods and regular members of this site, i thought it would be interesting to gauge popular support for those that regulate this site. In answering, please be mindful of the work they do that may not affect you directly. e.g. - multi hunting.
I'm pretty new here but I've looked through the threads and seen the bans etc. that have been issued, some prematurely. I'd say it depends on the Mod. For instance, the CAs make the Foundry a whole lot better. I can't really speak for others because I've never had any really bad interactions with any mods. MO: depends on the forum they're in.

im sure ive seen clapper post there while not flaming before
EDIT: and let me also say, I dont spend alot of time in most forums, but both the tournament and foundry forums would be an insane mess and possibly not functional at all without mods
I disagree, without mods the forum would melt into one giant flame war...
- We should try not having mods for a week
Does any mod ever actually post in the flame wars (when not flaming) ??
I've done it a couple times.
And what I meant was that lack would take the forums down because he wouldn't let them be run without mods....it would come back to be too much headache for him...all the PMs and complaining he would get because "he said/she said" and blah, blah, blah

Some of the judgement calls are shallow at best, and some mods are and were not impartial and somewhat out of line. I think a little better mod supervision by upper management has and will improve the situation.
That being said, they are human after all and prone to human missgivings like pride and anger and all sorts idiocies.
However: What most here lack is contrast. With out any mods, every forum would be consumed by the juvenile spew that so many of you tend to yak out. Nothing could get properly discussed, threads would be derailed at the get go, and the f*ck wits would drive the site off a cliff. ( Y'know.....like flame wars. Entertaining in the beginning, stale and lame in the end.)
So like them or not, they do hold the barbarians at the gate.

No mods = no forums
Not true, the forum could be publicly moderated.
There are many sites that do this, you may have seen it, everyone gets to vote on each post either thumbs up or thumbs down, if the post accumulates a certain % of thumbs down votes, the post is removed from public view.
Having a non public moderation system is archaic, the "peer reviewed/moderated" systems are the future and solves the problems of the power hungry attitude that ALL mods inevitably get.
I am a MOD on another site... actually I have more power than a MOD but regardless... we never have problems like this place... I say it has to do with the demographics of this site .... lot's of youngins who like to hear themselves talk with nothing really better to do but cause trouble .... I enjoy stirring the pot now and then too just like the rest of them ... but ya gotta chill out sometimes ... jeesh
It would seem the only people who have problems with the MODs are the people the MODs continue to have problems with ... strange don't ya think?

Over 70% of our laws are now handed down by unelected Commissioners in Brussels. The Lisbon treaty will push through yet more powers to those same hands.
Democracy? This incumbent bunch of retards in Westminster don't know the meaning of the word. They are nothing more than a bunch of self serving petty intellectual lightweights.
As for the mods here....as in all things relative, they are something of a curates egg of a bunch.
Due to current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off
No. I think there should be a behind the scenes policy redirection. Plus a few mods should step down, and hiring of new faces that are able to think beyond he said/she said, and whining. Warnings/bans shouldn't be issued because of hearsay.

i don't have any problems with the mods, and i support them 100%. i chat with a few of them regularly and even an admin from time to time. when i get in trouble, i take my time out and accept the ruling, as wrong as i may find it. however, when i simply question what a rule means, i don't expect to be banned and to have my entire clan persecuted for absolutely nothing. i still don't have anything against the mods/admins, and will never say a bad thing about them. they are essential to CC and as we all know, are mostly volunteers. sooo, if this was in any way aimed at me, you missed the mark. and to top it off, i'm not a regular offender, just a high profile offender... the black jesus has spoken...-0

I'm happy with the mods on this site, no question is too trivial and they are quite approachable. Sometimes the wheels here do turn a bit slowly, but they still turn and I expect that's only because RL is intruding. After all we all have lives to attend to if we still want to sign in and play on CC or post in the forums.
In essence, yes the mods do improve my experience in CC.

The only people who seem to have a problem with the moderators a very select and small and unsilent majority as is always the case at any gamers forum. There are always some whiners and complainers.
Everyone else is happy and fine and here to play the game rather than whine.

Yes, this way (done at the euro parliament recently by persons unknown!)
Due to current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off

It wasn't aimed at you specifically ... but i group you with the likes of others who troll around and like to hear themselves talk... I've said this a million times before and I will say it again ... democracy ends the second you hit that log in button.... You have no right to question a rule especially if you say you take your punishment and accept the ruling ... if that was so then you wouldn't spout all kinds of crap after being punished .. you would take it like a man and let it go .... not keep beating it over and over again ....to me that says you don't accept it .... how can you say both of those in the same sentence ... it cancels each other out ....you support them 100% but then question what a rule means ... they made the rules ... if you support them 100% then ipso facto you should support their rules 100%
come one stop trying to stir the pot so much it really is getting old.... black Jesus or not.... high profile offender ? LOL laughable...
and please capitalize Jesus from now on ....
