Of course I wont answer any more flame war posts, I posted a few angry posts there so that I could evaluate the forum, it's made for people with an abundance of hate and no brain. Wich I originally suspected!

Not really, there are a few private discussion groups where we have promised to be civil, here's where we have fun.

Some flamers are pretty funny, if you can disregard their logical fallacies and dripping sarcasm.

I said if...

If you by "Religious teaching" mean that we get to know wich the biggest religions are and where people who practice it is your right, and If you ment that they go through the Creation myth your'll also right, even though it's done by relating to religion like some old thing people once believed in, but if you ment that they in a serious way give religion as high status as science! you're way off!

No, I don't believe that Swedes (or most Americans, for that matter!) equate science with religion. They are entirely differant. Science requires "physical" proof. Religion is a matter of largly unproveable belief. You cannot prove God exists and you cannot prove he does ... it is a matter of belief.

The number of American Christians who are Scientific Creationists (see Widowmakers thread for one example) is pretty small. Most of us learn and absolutely believe scientists. We may or may not be religious also..... like most Swedes. One thing, though you forget. It is pretty easy to be tolerant when there are few who actually think and live very differantly. Sweden is a very homogeneous society. And open society, welcoming, but homogeneous. You mentioned that your town accepted Muslem immigrants. The test is not in the next few years. The test is 15 -- 20 years. France and Denmark, too have histories' of welcome. Yet, recently, there has been a sharp rise in anti-immigrant thought. It happens because these people don't necessarily want to come to Sweden and live like you. They sometimes want to live like they always have ... but without the violance and oppression or plain lack of jobs, etc.

Your very anger and seeming hatred toward those who are religious speaks volumes. For someone arguing tolerance, you don't seem very tolerant right now.

If I'm not replying, it's more likely that I'm sleeping, (Sweden lies 7-11 hours before the U.S in time), or that I'm doing something else that requires my attention. Me being silenced by believers without a single serious theory have never happened! and will never happened!

The problem now is that I haven't received one serious counter post that makes me actually have to explain the truth with something to argue against! All you believers, give me your best shot, give me something that you think I cant make a good reply on, instead of just being childish!
That's the spirit! I'll be praying for you to succeed.

Gillipig wrote:There is a simple reason to why people believe in god, And thoose who doesn't understand that are either retards or just not trying hard enough. It's because we have a primitive need for it. Beleive in gods used to be important when we lived as hunters and gatherers. We needed to have something to hold on to when our lives looked tough. We will still have this need for thousands of years to come though! Because until our dna change, we wont change!
A lot of people today don't need religion! And it's not a coincident that thoose people more often than not live in the rich parts of the world. For the first time in human history, non-believe (atheism) is the greates single life stance people have. That to me says that we have it better today then we ever had before. No suffering, No desire, No religion. They go hand in hand! If anything should be said to try to convince religious people to why they are wrong (if you would like take that conversation with them (I wouldn't)) the best argument would probably be: Everywhere in the world there are different religions, how would you know wich is right? However you bend it you can't help to come to the conclusion that the wast majority of all religious people beleive in something that is only in there heads!

Thanks for reading, use this information wisely!
Use wisely. huh

god.......huh

you you you you........huh

dna.....huh

So, is being retarded like being insane? I mean, if I know I am insane can I really be called insane? So if I agree with being retarded, does that mean that I am still retarded? Or is it a kind of comparative perspective more or less.
Reality based on "belief". You know how those beliefs are, it can have a tendency to slip out of your fingers when revelatory action pursues. Thank goodness your belief is secure. Living in our day in age is so helpful. We are passed the hunting and gathering, ha, how primitive. Vise grips, welders, gorilla glue (no pun intended), rope made of synthetics and more, invented to keep you and your things secure. Technology does have a tendency to give us so much more at our fingertips to keep those beliefs right where they belong. It is comforting and at the same time thrilling to know that arrogance can be wielded without measure or any feeling of wrongdoing using newly refined and innovative technology. It's almost feels like cheating sometimes. Did I just hear a knock at the door? Hope it isn't that blasted Perspective again, what a mooch. Perhaps it is Senor Reality, always trying to show me some new gadget. Glad I got mine already. Pardon me while I drag myself and my bags of proofs and reasoning over and tell whoever it is to shove it. Gosh I feel important today. I am so freaking awesome. I'll show them I am no mere mist in the wind. Oh, you are still here. Where was I, probably acting retarded

For the third time it's not my town, it's very a small town in your eyes, and I have actually never put my foot there! Though I've heard about it in the news!

Yes you are right about that it's getting harder and harder to make them fit into society,

Sweden also has bigger issue with jobs than the most countries! And our immigrants are often getting their salary through the taxpayers pockets. Not through a job!

Sorry if I frightend you but I have a lot of energi when I speak, and because I can't show what I mean through body language in a post (wich I normally do) I guess I use a bit more powerful words than I need! I don't hate religion or the people who believe in it, but I would like religion to have a more laid back role in the U.S, every president always says something about god and it's affecting your society more than I think is reasonble, especially as your country has a way influencing other countries! Religion is too much bonded with the U.S, and I know there are a lot of people over there that ain't religious!
I think It's your right to think for yourselves and they are being hindered from thinking for themselves by the traditions of U.S religion.

This could be a brilliant troll thread, but that might be extending a ridiculous benefit of the doubt.
