The point I am trying to make is that: We ARE sending real armies at each other. We may view them as 'lowly' numbers, but, in all actuality, these are real humans/aliens that we are commanding.
Isn't anyone else concerned?

Hmmm, if you haven't read the book, that's fine, just don't try to ostentatiously comment on this thread . My bet would be that upwards of a fifth of the active members on this site have read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Those who haven't should really look into reading it.

Wolffystyle wrote:After discussing it with my closet friends, I have decided that Conquer Club is actually like Ender's Game in that **SPOILER ALERT** we are actually sending out armies to die. Each game we play is a mini-intergalactic-battle that holds real-life consequences. Each reinforcement, each attack, each movement we make is a command that is sent to our combatting armies in space, or on a tiny islet in the south Atlantic, I'm not sure which...
Are there moral consequences to this newfound realization? Are we complicit with our murders, battles and wars now that we know they hold real weight?
Do our armies get mad when the battle is not played in real time? What do you think they do when they are waiting 20 hours facing a giant stack of the Green Andromeda galactic warships and they have been issued no commands?
Seeing how our "games" are indeed real, should we employ new strategies for combat, or do we stick to our old ignorant movements?
Please advise...

In the Ender's game series, Ender is an incredibly intelligent tactician, commander and strategist. If Conquer club were, hitherto unbeknownst to its users, a real life war rather than a random number simulation, who would be our commanders? Could we rely on our scores, medals and ranks? No. Actually, I think medals would wield us with the best tool to pick a commander. However, there are many more intangibles that would be needed examined before anyone was deemed fit to issue orders in war. Not that we need a commander, no, it's much better to combat the unified galactic enemies with different minds, strategies, perspectives and speeds.
While I am a brigadier on this site, I would be a mere cook in actual battle. Actually, I can't even cook right, I ate egg shell accidentally this morning and burnt my orange juice...don't ask me how.
