i do admit the circles need to be a bit brighter, so I will change that, and possibly add more into the background so that it doesnt look quite so void.

anything that yall see should be changed?

[moved] back into the Foundry.

If I remember correctly, this was an Advanced Draft?

i never get very excited about space maps - for me it's 'seen one you've seen them all' - but i grant that this is one of the better efforts in the Drafting Room right now. This map actually gives the sense that it could be playable as-is, but I have some questions (which may have already been dealt with in this thread - if so my apologies).

First, is the black hole really necessary? Forgive my ignorance of all things astronomical, but it seems to me that if you were to map out all of the stars in the Zodiac and then put them together on a plane (which they aren't) the thing in the center would be the earth. We are the observers of these celestial images, which wouldn't look the same from any other point in the universe. You've taken the observer out of the equation and replaced it with something that just seems gimmicky.

Next, you've got a problem in Gemini... #6 borders #12 via the attack route, which crosses another attack route. Does #5 border #6? Does #10 border #12? Visually they do.

Finally, this map has taken the artistry out of the zodiac. The constellations are things of the imagination - scorpio isn't just a collection of stars, it is deadly a Scorpion ready to strike. And the mythological sagittarius is a magnificent man-beast creature with bow and arrow at the ready. I'd love to see something of the zodiac actually make it into a Zodiac Map.

I chose the black hole as a center point because it connects to almost everything... and if I had made it the earth or the sun, it wouldnt make sense that it would have a decay or any negative effect for holding it... I do agree that it doesnt really have any significance based on the observer Point of View...

as for the connections in Gemini...
I chose not to connect 5 to 6, and rather have them connected to 10 and 12 respectively to give a slightly less direct attack route... There is absolutely not a connection between 10 and 12 due to 11 being directly between them... I will be willing to add a connection between 5 and 6 but in doing so I would have to remove the crossing connections...

I have been playing with the idea of creating some sort of image based on each sign's significance, however I am not that talented and do not want to violate any copyrights by using images found online... if someone is willing to create 12 images that would fit onto this map I would be more than willing to incorporate them...

Thank you for your input! I am hoping that with less and less input means that I am getting closer and closer to finalizing the graphics...

I will try to have another update within the next 2 weeks, in accordance with my notes in my previous post, and any further input i recieve...

Are the attack routes visiable enough? i can brighten them a bit or make them slightly thicker...
Also I noticed that the black hole description is once again a bit hard to read...

*UPDATES TO BE MADE*
brightening the circles
make the background slightly less void
lighten background behind blackhole explination
attack route lines??

Before you make the circles brighter, why not test the 88s in the standard colors on the map? People may think them dark now, but if the troops cover them, it may not be so noticable.

I have one, however I have been using a privately hosted site so that I can bring what I need to upload to work and be able to post updates here. Photobucket is a blocked site.

If www.synthasite.com is a legit site, look forward to another update in the next week or two...

I'm sure you can find some great zodiac images that the copyright has expired on. I'd prefer to see some imagery from before the 20th Century anyway...

Until you manage to get the image uploaded, I'll move the thread into the recycling bin.

Once you've got it up, then drop me (or one of the other CAs) a PM and we'll get you back into the drafting room.
