There is a global depression so clearly there is scope for short term pain and a degree of inflation but this does not equate with the doomsday scenario that you envisage, not even close.
This is probably why he didn't accept the wager:

If he wins, he gets $10,000 which is hardly worth anything.

If joe wins, he gets $10,000 which is worth a lot more.

It would be foolish to accept that bet. Use your head, comic.

This is exactly why we are having these massive bailouts here in the US. They are flooding the economy with newly printed dollars, thus destroying the value of the dollar. They will "have no choice" but to come up with a new currency, one that all countries will use. Don't worry, the dollars days are numbered.
Please post a link showing how much the dollar has fallen recently.
Its the hyperinflation of the dollar that is the concern. Not the value of the dollar when compared to other currencies that we are talking about. The fact that we have printed the following:

TARP: 800+ billion
Stimulus: 1+ trillion
Amnibus: 1+ trillion

All within a 6 month period, and the next year budget proposes another trillion (I think) for next year. When China started talking about changing the global reserve currency, they were expressing a lack of confidence in the dollar with regards to what printing and spending the US government is doing / proposing. Our Government, like some of you here, is overly welcome to the notion of a single world currency, or a currency in the US, the Amero, like the Euro.
Not a single world currency, captain, but a supranational key currency. Noone will force you to start paying with heathen foreign money, but the US$ won't be what everything else is compared against.

Transitioning from the dollar to a single world currency (for exchange purposes) is the first step. Next, the dollar will be hyper inflated, and we will have to transition to another currency (the Amero) then, why not have every one in the world use the global currency?

You can look at the news mid way through April and see the New World Bank forming right in front of your eyes and know that these things are in line with predictions of economists like Peter Schiff, who predicted this economy mid way through 2006. He was laughed at on many economic pundit programs and was named Dr. Doom... looks like he knew exactly what he was talking about then.
Nouriel Roubini is the economist that predicted the economic downturn 3 years ago and is known as Dr. Doom, FYI.

The hyperinflation of the dollar is being taken care of by America itself, no need for the rest of the world to help there, you're doing fine. But why should everyone else be dragged down (alternately help drag you up by jumping off the cliff together with you which would end up with every dead, metaphorically speaking) by your oversea stupidity when we much prefer the homegrown stupidity we get this side of the ocean?

You need another option on the survey: Mildly: a.There are scriptures that could be interpreted as predicting such a thing, but could also be otherwise interpreted. b. Jesus' first command when talking about the signs of the end times was not to be quickly shaken when you see them. c.If I practice listening to His voice and obeying, I'll know what to do, if anything, and when, so I'm just watching the events as they unfold and keeping an open mind.

If you had that one I'd check it. My point, for those who are in doubt of it, is that not all Christians who firmly believe the scriptures are wild-eyed conspiracy alarmists.
The right answer to the wrong question is still the wrong answer to the real question.

Ummm, no...
Fortune magazine wrote of him, "In 2005, Roubini said home prices were riding a speculative wave that would soon sink the economy. Back then the professor was called a Cassandra. Now he's a sage."[1] In September, 2006, he announced to a skeptical International Monetary Fund (IMF) that an economic crisis was brewing. "In the coming months and years, he warned, the United States was likely to face a once-in-a-lifetime housing bust, an oil shock, sharply declining consumer confidence and, ultimately, a deep recession," according to the New York Times.[2] According to the Times, he accurately foresaw "homeowners defaulting on mortgages, trillions of dollars of mortgage-backed securities unraveling worldwide and the global financial system shuddering to a halt." The NY Times even labeled him "Dr. Doom." In hindsight, IMF economist Prakash Loungani has called him "a prophet,"[2] and the vice chairman of AIG said "Roubini was intellectually courageous, and he called the shots correctly."
The only reason I knew this is because I heard him on NPR this weekend.

Imagine a world where two people can actually have the same nick name:

http://www.financialpost.com/story.html?id=911549
Schiff points to the low savings rate of the United States as its worst malady, citing the transformation from being the world's largest creditor nation in the 1970s to the largest debtor nation by the year 2000. His extremely bearish views on the U.S. Dollar, the United States stock market, bond market and the United States economy have earned him the nickname "Dr. Doom."

Has anyone noticed that there is not one, but actually two eyes in the background behind all the Ultimate Warrior .gif images that pimpdave has been posting in the forums? I haven't been able to locate a pyramid yet, but I'm going to keep looking until I find one.

Just so you guys don't think I'm making this up:

Imagine the Federal Reserve has been audited by the U.S. Treasury (1913-1921), the GAO (1921-1933), Federal Reserve Board audit teams (1933-1952), private accounting firms authorized by Congress (1952-1978), and the newly constructed GAO (1978 - present). Imagine that people have watched this process take place out in the open on C-SPAN.

I can almost imagine what your responses are going to be to that last paragraph as I've posted this on other forums, and it's going to be fun to read it all over again.

Just because one subscribes to one conspiracy does not mean they subscribe to all. So if you are concerned about the "Ultimate Warrior" conspiracy have at it. I find it absurd. As for the Fed. It really does not make any difference if it was audited or not. If corruption exists, and you have to be a fool to think it doesn't, it may extend far beyond what we might suspect. For instance there are several Chinese restaurants in the area in which I live. A cop I know has been involved in raids of these places, he is aware that when inspected by the Health Department, they have failed. But they have never shut down and are still in business today. Why? Well according to this cop, the businesses "pay off" the inspectors. Yeah, you heard it right..... they are given hush money to leave them alone. So what if they are serving cat instead of chicken? or that cockroaches infest the place? So maybe luns knows, but I don't know who these audit people are. I do know that every year legislation is put forth to audit the Fed and it never passes. Furthermore, how can anyone familiar with prophecy be so adamantly against the thought that things are going on, out of view of the public, to bring about a stage in which the antichrist will preside over? And if prophecy is correct, it must take some time to set up. This stuff is not going to happen overnight. Scripture says he will have power over all people! Allowing them to buy and sell. Yeah, a new world order where all transactions can be monitored, all banks are derived from the same source is absolutely nutty....... to those that do not believe what scripture says. But I can't fathom why a Christian would doubt these things. :-s

You have put a pretty big task in front of me, one that will require some time. I will have to get back to you and will likely have to start a new thread on this question. My thinking is that Board of Governers all have ties back to secret societies, such as bonesmen and others, and that the public face of the Fed is a scam.
