Isn't that what people said with the last president?Juan_Bottom wrote:lol, wut?Stalin wrote:Furthermore, it's incredibly unpatriotic of you do be questioning the president's actions when he needs cooperation the most, I feel dissent such as this is what's keeping us in a crisis, and it shouldn't be tolerated or allowed.
We spent more money in WW2 than the New Deal. You can argue the New Deal failed (though I think it didn't), but the reason why it didn't pull us completely out of the depression is that we didn't spend enough.Japs wrote:Point is that his New Deal wasn't the thing that bolstered our economy out of the Great Depression, It was the war which FDR tried to stay out of. (Im not saying trying to stay out of of the war was bad)It would have been better if the gov didnt try and help our econ because it obviously not gona work in the long run. Just look at FDR, the New Deal Agencies worked for a little while but eventually the money ran out and the only thing that saved us from going deeper into depression is WW2. What shouldnt be tolerated or allowed is a government hand in controlling private business. What do you think WW2 was? That's right - the greatest deficit spending in American history. Ie, GOVERNMENT STIMULUS.
Sorry for the Triple Post.
Yes, misspoke indeed. And what's more, the correction is an irrelevant comparison. Of course he spent more money -- inflation has lowered the value of the dollar. If you want an accurate comparison, try: And as a brief aside, I call bullshit on FDR trying to keep us out of the war. He said he would to get elected because the US was vehemently isolationist, but if you look at his actions, (as many critics of him did; I repeat: critics), you would see that he did pretty much all he could to get us involved.Japs wrote:Sorry I miss-spoke on that little fun fact part. I mean to say he is the President who has spent the most money so far in this short amount of time compared to all of our other presidents.
He is embracing the economic theory of Keyneism which FDR also embraced but his goals like Obama's were to short termed.
And all conservatives make wild generalizations! So there!Fire Mario wrote:Liberals don't base their policies on the constitution. They base them on their beliefs of large government.

S-10, F-150, etc.Pedronicus wrote:Seeing as how i've never been to America and do not know their car model names, could someone please give me some GM models that have retained the same name, and have had 4-5 new versions, made over the last 10-15 years?
I once looked on wiki at the evolution of the Ford Thunderbird and the styling started off cool and evolved into an ugly piece of shit, then only recently did ford try to make a model that looked like the original.
When ever I've seen American tv programmes like X files for example, I've been horrified by the piss poor design of the cars.
European models in the ford range have been good looking cars for as long as i've been alive, and only recently have the likes of peugeot, renault, citroen & & GM's european arm (opel/vauxhall) been able to match ford in the looks dept. 20 years ago car made by these firms looked shit, whereas Ford had a massive slice of the market.
Interesting fact, the big three (Chrysler, Ford, GM) are infamous for rebadging (new names-even brands) new cars. Even vehicles made with the same plant often get re-named. So it's a tough question.Pedronicus wrote:Seeing as how i've never been to America and do not know their car model names, could someone please give me some GM models that have retained the same name,
Their trucks never looked bad. The S-10 however, is a pile of crap, which was replaced by the Colorado... an even bigger pile of crap. Trouble with the S-10 is that the steering and suspension wear out increadably fast. Every time you replace the tires you need new ball joints and shocks(dampeners) too. Trouble with the Colorado is that it is 0 fun to drive. And again, plauged with production problems.PLAYER57832 wrote:S-10, F-150, etc.

There, I fixed it. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Thank the bank for the money thank God for you.Pedronicus wrote:thanks juansey you're amazing and I wish that I could be more like you.

I like them both, though the style is very differen't. The European one looks like an early 90s Japanese import. Huh... They are differen't model comparisons anyway since the pictures show a 2door and a 4door. But look at all that glass on the 4 door. No excuse for hitting your neighbors dog there...Pedronicus wrote:a 1991 model from europe (This thing sold by the bucket load)
They also fell apart after 100,000 miles. And they re-named cars waaaaay to fast. Ladies and even a fair share of men(overgeneralization I know) know crap about cars. Names are about all that they know. So they'll go to a dealer looking for the same car their dad had, or they themselves had only to find there isn't one anymore. So they'll go shop around... Wearas the imports all stayed true to their badges. Some for well over 20 years now.Pedronicus wrote:American cars from the 70's 80's and 90's were ugly. no wonder japanese and german cars stole sales from GM.

Hmmm... well that was what I read in Motor Trend anyway.HapSmo19 wrote:Juan_Bottom wrote:Chevy Camaro (styling was always nice, but they ran into a problem when it cost more to insure these cars than it did to make your monthly payment for them...)
Hmmm. Before my 3rd DUI, I had full-coverage on my Z28 and truck for about $90 a month.
