We have no say in the revival/death of Flame Wars. Management seems to be heading in a less confrontational direction and removed it for the duration.

I see no need for the forum, though keeping people from attacking each other is going to be difficult. The mods seem to be keeping up well though, and even I received a love-note from clapper011 for something I wrote.

FLAME WARS must be brought back!

mod edit

Warning-warning-warning, don't call anyone "pointed ear alien," you'll get a warning by "Night Strike." Don't call a French-Canadian a "FRENCHIE," after some uneducated idiot insulted Americans. Yes, this has happened to me.

Bring back our FREEDOMS of FREE SPEECH and FREE EXPRESSIONS to slam our fellow players and bad Moderators.

Actually, nothing is stopping those that desire to flame from starting their own site, or joining an adult site, and flaming away to their little red hearts content. So there is freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech is a total red-herring.

This is about the willingness of the site to ignore the views and wishes of its members in every case.

Classic Map - Gone! without care for our views or viable alternative
Feedback - Gone! with consultation after the fact and by mistake via a rogue and now sacked mod (heh i am genuinely not putting the two things together)
Spamalot - Gone - brought back under a hail of dissent! *
Flamewars - Gone! under a Pink cloud made of sniggerring bunnies

It is very much within the remit of the site to do exactly what it wants without discussion - might is right! It can do what it wants and i do not argue against its right to do so.

But if you consistently piss-off your customer-base it will gradually leave. I am only here as some silly bugger kindly bought me a premium against my advice

* if they are willing to do it, who is to say they will not eventually do it to you!?

You're right, FREEDOM of SPEECH is NOT guaranteed on forums like this.

What we want is to be able to have a thread, where we can voice our outrage at players and even about moderators who seem too sensitive to criticism.

The way things are now, we can have a particular moderator who uses his authority to pass his own agenda or hatred for specific players and posters. So, where do we go from here then? Just be silent? Ask for a refund of our premium payment?

There's something called customer service and now the last vistages of it is being left to those moderators who may have an axe to grind or a political philosophy that may be offensive to some of us.

Night Strike can edit this and edit that to hide the harmless rants I have said. That's his perogative and power that he uses.

Well, GENERAL STONEHAM, that is not going to happen. It doesn't matter how much you stomp your feet or raise your voice, Flame Wars is gone for good. The atmosphere as well as the encouragement it provided for trolls and abusive users is not worth having continue. It really is that simple.

insomniared? Sorry don't speak that language. I'm finished with your rambling nonsense. Is it your school system that failed you?

And you wonder why you get banned?

as many others have said, Yes we are all paying customers to some extent, but the forums as well as live chat are bonuses to what you are actually paying for. And as bonuses can be taken away at any given moment, without notice from this sites owner. With that said this is as follows what you are paying for when you buy your premium membership from conquerclub website.:
It is not easy to develop and maintain an online game like Conquer Club. Hundreds of hours must be spent programming, and dollars must be spent on web hosting, support staff, gourmet peanut butter and other expenses. Please support Conquer Club by upgrading to Premium Membership. It costs only $25 USD per year.

In return for your support, Premium Membership earns you the following benefits:

* Play UNLIMITED simultaneous games
* Play thrilling real-time SPEED games
* Create password-protected PRIVATE games (which Free members may join, too)
* Have a GOLDEN rank icon display next to your name
* Feel that WARM and FUZZY feeling you get from supporting a website that you love

have a great day

*The maps and dice are a bonus too - they could take away all the graphics, replacing them with cubes with numbers on and random geometric shapes where countries once were!.. hang on a minute!

But most of all and relevant to the line which reads:
* Feel that WARM and FUZZY feeling you get from supporting a website that you love
- is a bonus.

The site should remember that it receives the bonus of our financial support!

But more, it receives Slave labour, bought off with the putrid offer of mod'ships, in the very forums which you call bonus's to us! it is all fanciful stuff.

Our Artists and Script genii create the best part of this bloody place and for nothing! And for no stake in its future and apparently no right even to moan when it is changed without discussion or debate*. .. The flamewars disgrace was even passed off as a joke!

Well that is a joke and one in very poor taste!

*It is likely that all the artists and scripters will breathe a sigh of satisfaction on mass that this place is better now without a vying and poisonous forum! Fair enough, that is the calculation which the site makes but what about when it changes something you care about with no thought of your opinion?

Anyway, I no longer care about the future character of this place. No loss for either of us i am sure.

Have a sin-free Day!

People voted with their feet. The difference in the number of people that play games and those that participated in FW was enormous. Games won.
