Hey everyone. ptlowe and I had an idea of making a private forum available to those who want to be able to play high ranked games against other high ranked players whenever they wanted, and AAFitz agrees that it would be a great idea. We could make it for colonels and above and keep the passwords the same so that people can join at their own convenience. That way, you don't have to start trolling for new recruits, just join one of these games and you should have the game going quickly.
The thing is though, we need support for this before we can get it off the ground. I've already pm'd lack asking if he can set up the forum for us, and he has yet to get back to us. Please, if you would be interested in this, then say so in this forum. Thanx!

good idea
i'm interested in them
especially we can also bring some variety to those elite games that are almost all escalating unlimited 6 player games
Exactly. We'd have our own forum and anyone who is a colonel is in automatically, no screening process. 2000 is the only requirement. Once we get it up and running, we can talk about variety in games, even get teams and stuff if that's what people want. It'll be more fun than making public games where only newbs join (no offense to any new players, I was there once myself). I just feel bad for them, I'd hate to have my first game as a new player against the best in the site and get my butt kicked... it would drive me away from this site, you know? There should be a area for new players as well, so that they can get used to how the game is played before they are put in with high ranked players. That SHOULD be what the public games area should be used for. Why do high ranked players need public games if they have their own group and play against players who are just as good as they are?

Just to let people know, once you make it in, you stay in. We aren't going to like kick you out or anything if you drop below 2000. We know too well that scores flucuate from time to time due to losing streaks.

kyle has my vote hes been a colonel before...but i think if you drop too much below 2000, you shouldnt join any more...if its close...obviously its fine
suggestions would be helpful
im thinking to keep it fair to higher ranking colonels it should be 1950 or 1975 before you should join...i wont unless im 2000
makes you want to be a colonel all the more in my opinion
and if you drop once you have joined a game...it doesnt matter at all obviously

The only problem is that I pm'd lackattack about 2 days ago... and he still hasn't gotten back to me. Anyone have any idea who I should pm to ask if not him? Maybe he's on vacation?

yeah, um, lackattack just replied to my pm, and we got some bad news... I'll just copy and paste it here.
"Hi MC,
The instructions on creating a usergroup were posted on the FAQ/Contact page but as you can see we aren't taken applications now. Please check back on the usergroup FAQ question once or twice a week - I'll put back the instructions when we are taking applications again.
Thanks
lackattack"
So, I guess we'll have to wait a little bit to set this plan into motion. Sorry everyone.

well im sure he is busy as hell, so i understand...lets just keep it unofficial for now and set up games with passwords
i reccommend anyone whos interested let us know and we can come up with a common password so we have a list of players that play and we can join whichever games we want..it wont be as easy without the tourney title, but it will still be possible to get it done
if people are interested, it would be cool to post here, so we know how much need there is for this

we could just beg for a temporary tournament that just doesnt end, but today may not be the best day to push for this...let let the idea kick around a little and see how many people are interested
in the interim...all interested, post here and we can come up with a common password, and go nuts.....we may have to switch it occasionally to protect the games from terrorists...lol
