LOTR Map - Question

I'm playing the Middle Earth map for the first time, and I'm in game #: 183597. I have one question, on one of my opponents last turns I saw this in the message log:
2007-01-23 00:08:31 - Mighty Warrior receives 4 armies for 12 territories
2007-01-23 00:08:31 - Mighty Warrior gets the armies multiplied for 2 rounds

I was curious, under what conditions do your armies get doubled on this map?

hi
you only get armies multiplied like that if you miss a turn then the next round you get the armies for that round as well as the ones from the ones you missed
