These are the ratings only from last night.FOX RATINGS SURGE ON PROTEST COVERAGE
8-11 PM ET
Bill O'Reilly likes to claim his ratings are better than Keith Olbermann's, which is generally not true.Snorri1234 wrote:Uhm...what's the point of this?
Hehe, no it isn't.InkL0sed wrote:Bill O'Reilly likes to claim his ratings are better than Keith Olbermann's, which is generally not true.Snorri1234 wrote:Uhm...what's the point of this?
Neo McCarthyist tactics of the left:Snorri1234 wrote:Sure, if your definition of liberal is "Not a radical libertarian" then there are indeed a huge amount of liberal voices compared to others.
As a Libertarian (radical, I'm not sure), I can tell you there are NO high profile news people, pundits, commentators or journalists who share all of my views. From a purely economic perspective, I can get on board with someone like Rush Limbaugh. However, when it comes to social issues, I get on board with Janine Garafolo.Snorri1234 wrote:Sure, if your definition of liberal is "Not a radical libertarian" then there are indeed a huge amount of liberal voices compared to others.
What's the difference between this and the things that Olbermann/Garafolo said? What's the difference between this and Anderson Cooper's consistent jokes about teabagging?InkL0sed wrote:I don't even know what to call this:

For the record, in middle school we had Channel One (a news station for young people). One of the anchors was... Anderson Cooper (a/k/a Cobalt Steele). Among other things, he went to Bosnia during the war... for Channel One. The dude is a machine.Neoteny wrote:For the record, a friend of mine nicknamed Anderson Cooper "Cobalt Steele," because he's badass. I've taken it up recently, so if anyone sees me refer to "Steele," that's who I'm talking about.
First of all, last night was the first time I cringed while watching Olbermann. I think that while there's probably an element of truth to what Garofalo said, she definitely went too far.thegreekdog wrote:What's the difference between this and the things that Olbermann/Garafolo said? See, the different here is this - I will readily admit (and readily accuse) that Glenn Beck is conservative and completely inappropriate many times. I'll also admit Glenn Beck is ridiculous in many of his assertions and how he gets his point across.
However, you (and others) refuse to admit that Olbermann, Anderson Cooper, Rachel Madow, John Stewart, and Stephen Colbert do anything wrong. At least, that's my problem with you and snorri and player (who I really, really want to refer to as just playah). I admit that there's media bias on both sides. You have not acknowledged, to my knowledge, that any media bias exists on one side.
He really is. Now that you bring it up, I may have seen that broadcast before... I don't remember seeing Cobalt Steele on it, but I remember something similar. It may have just been a competing broadcast, but it was a similar concept.thegreekdog wrote:For the record, in middle school we had Channel One (a news station for young people). Not exactly a ringing endorsement of liberal media being biased, but I'll take what I can get. You should definitely watch some of Olbermann's critiques of President Bush. The term "fascist" has been used many times. I'll try to get some links for you.InkL0sed wrote:First of all, last night was the first time I cringed while watching Olbermann. Hmm... I watched both of those videos. I was not incited into doing violence. On the contrary, I thought his comments were ridiculous. Of course, if a redneck rascist vetern was watching this, he'd probably go right out and join a militia group to try to kill some Mexican illegal immigrants.InkL0sed wrote:While I don't think liberal media pundits can do no wrong, the worst I've seen them do is be offensive. What Glenn Beck does in these videos is far worse - he actually incites people into violence. There is a huge difference.

I have seen them, and I mostly agreed with him. Criticism is not the same as bias.thegreekdog wrote:Not exactly a ringing endorsement of liberal media being biased, but I'll take what I can get. That's because you know better. Many people don't, and it's scary to think what they might do with Beck's encouragement.Hmm... I watched both of those videos. I was not incited into doing violence. I was writing a response to your post, sir, but forget it. I am fucking tired of comments like this. I refuse to answer a question to which you have already formed an answer.thegreekdog wrote: The real difference, for you, is that you hate President Bush and you like President Obama.
