The Raven was trained by the government in an underground program designed to produce a higher level, more efficient, government killer. His most challenging and last official job was to eliminate Oprah. Something went wrong during the mission and communication with The Raven was lost. Oprah lives and the hit was deemed unsuccessful. No communication or sightings in the months following the botched hit have lead officials to believe that The Raven is in fact dead. However, in recent months there have been a number of unclaimed, high profile hits that are reminiscent of his previous work. Lack of evidence and no witnesses, however make it impossible to be sure and most officials still believe he is dead.
