Well now you can't say that. I've had a number of occasions. The last was when i helped a guy get into the Salvation Army rehab center. He agreed to go in if i would check on his house every night after 11 PM. His house is on the main drug corner in the Hollygrove neighborhood in New Orleans - ask someone from New Orleans about Hollygrove. The only reason i didn't take an automatic weapon and a couple grenades is that i was known in the neighborhood from my work at the community center, but i still had a sawed off shotgun, and needed it to run 3 crackheads (2 of which were armed) out of the house on the first night.hecter wrote:You know, I can honestly say that I've never met anybody that has ever been in a situation that could have been improved by the introduction of a gun, or where the situation was improved because somebody had a gun. Seems to me that they just cause problems...
Those of you who are so vocal about gun control, have you ever done community service work in a bad neighborhood? If you would have agreed as i did to help an addict get clean by watching his house, would you have been naive enough to go in there without a gun? It's easy to sit back and judge from a safe, comfortable environment.
