How are alliances enforced?

Post by Lev306 »

Hey all,

New to this game, but I am wondering how alliances are enforced? Say someone and I decide we aren't going to attack each other, then how do I make sure our agreements holds and he/she won't backstab me the moment I turn around? Also secondly, if an alliance is made, how does one win the game? (does the game take that into account and once all other parties are eliminated then the allied players win?)

With Much Thks,

Lev

alliances

you just have to trust the person you aligned with. Sometimes they do stab you in the back. Most of the time you align for a few rounds, then someone will call it off with a rounds notice. The more you play, the more you will get it.

Alliances are never 'official' and you still have to win individually in a singles game. There is a seperate category for team games which is more like the permanent alliance between two players that you are talking about.

Although some people don't agree with this I think it's a small part of the game alliances. (because they won't attack you then you eliminate them :lol )

I've only broken an alliance once, and I explained to my partner my reason - not doing so would cause me and probably him to lose. Doing so resulted in my victory. I've thought about it many times since but, honestly, it's a dick thing to do. Perfectly legal, but if everyone did it, it'd remove the option for lack of trust. Kind of like the real world...

You don't trust that person ever again if they break an alliance. I try and make terms that do not out right call the person I am making the "deal" an ally. We are more like buisness partners.

EX. I recently had a real life game and made the deal that I would not attack a specific player in Africa from S. America provided they did the same. As the game progressed, we met up in N. America after I managed to remove a player from there. My "Partner" had run through Europe, didn't fortify well, and so I was making light wieght of him in Greenland.

At this point he threatened to attack S. America, since he had a small amount of troops and I had 1. Next turn I fortifyed in Brazil and slowly crept through Europe and attacked him from the north. By that time I was too large for him to handle, and yet I never broke our agreement.

Thats how I take care of my buisness. I NEVER will break a "deal" I made, but that doesn't mean that my "partner" is an ally. See what I mean?

Any way! just thought I would throw my hat in to the ring!

Grazzing im sorry you got stuck in that game with the pallondromes and was wondering if it was handled yet. but back to the subject at hand. You have to agree with everyone here you never know what you will see. The worst kind of alliance is the secret alliance which are illigal. I myself find them hard to find unless all the players are in every game together but normally you can have alliances that work. I myself don't like to break off alliances untill it is me and my ally alone then we fight it out
I'm still fairly new but you learn fast

All I know is you break an alliance with me and you are obviosly no wise man, for if you do I ally everyone who will, against you.
