That is the lamest defense of abortion I've heard. So, using that logic, I should have the freedom to use my hand to swing an axe at your head.(Same thing as abortion, just at a later date) The issue is the baby. If it is living in the womb and it is made to stop living, its murder. You can't get around this. It's murder.
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

No, what's funny is you pro-abortion nuts are for killing the innocent but opposed to killing the guilty.
I happen to be pro-life and against the death penalty.
There is a difference between pro-abortion and pro-choice... so i want to make it clear that i am pro-abortion. We should abort every 3rd baby (chosen from random.org), just to keep the environment just that little bit healthier.
Guys I respect your opinion but it is a personal choice and should not be imposed upon others, nobody is forcing you or a member of your family to abort a foetus if you dont wish to do so.

So it should be a personal choice should I decide to slit your throat?

How would that be anything other than a personal choice

Well, it is a personal choice that ends your life. Therefore, no longer personal.

Personal choice is Personal choice......no riddles required. You and others may disagree with the conclusions but the fact is that a legal concensus has been arrived at regarding the biological age that a foetus becomes a living person. There is therefore no legal comparison between abortion ( within the accepted time frame) and killing an adult, if you think moraly there is no difference than that is your PERSONAL CHOICE.....but that is all it is.

Considering i dont view your somewhat arbitrary but societialy defined norm definition of the baby as the same, it really isnt.
The fetus although if unimpeded would become human, does not require the granting of the same rights that people who are already breathing do.
They are not the same thing, and there are moral systems (reasonable ones that use logic like yours) that would define how we determine the right to life rather differently than your potential based system.

I tend to agree. But it is definitely not a blessing from God, as this whore of the cloth claims. I believe that it should be a states issue, 100 percent.
oh I try to ignore "----- from god" in any statement people throw that around far too much "its a blessing from god!" "its a sign from god!" blah blah blah lol, its just people trying to gain an indorsement from someone they belive (while many times they dont actually belive this) would support them.
oh and i am more against partial birth... there has to be a line someware, but to say all abortion is bad is what I fight against lol
I believe in god and I am blessed by Him often. I think that rape is the only situation where abortion is acceptable, hmmm maybe mother in danger of losing her life from complication.
well abortion from rape IMHO is kinda dumb. Both of my brothers are adopted and we get along better then i do with my biological sister lol so you can give it up to adoption instead of killing someone(and yes a babie is someone).
Another thing is it isn't the womans body, would you kill an infant? or an elderly person? They can't fend for themselves. They could remind you of terrible things. But they are people aren't they? so is an unborn fetus.
I dont see why people assume unborn fetuses are the same as the elderly or even infants. The elderly certainly have cognitive processes related to all types of humanistic behaviors that seemingly distinguish us from animals in terms of how we give rights. Essentially all the things that make it ok to use animals as resources how we wish but never take the life of innocents come not from some intrinsic thing like a soul (well they can of course but its more abstract seemingly) but from things like self-realization, the ability to have dreams and intentions that require more advanced cognitive processes.
An infant arguably doesnt have these things, and interestingly we didnt really mind infanticide in numerous points in human history, in fact it was even supported by the church at one point, i believe under an extension of limbo (which may show some of the potential sloppiness in using a soul as a defining line). However the fact that the infant has in fact crossed the threshold so to speak and has now gone under numerous more societially defining processes, such as naming and the like, probably make people percieve it as having done more to achieve its potential than simply an unborn child would have.
The unborn child has not done these things, it is not yet born and as such as far as i am aware does not fall under the legally endorsed sets of human rights provisions, which makes sense as it has not yet officially become a human. You are not born before you are born.

What about the elderly that have alzheimer's? Another thing is prove we don't have a soul, i'd like to see your research.

Haha let me guess you haven't studied religon? Or you miss heard a sermon/lesson? Because i don't remember anywhere in my bible condoning infanticide. Perhaps you miss heard the moses story, or your talking about the Islamic "church". Another thing is you have a soul at conception.

Oh so now the government is god and decides who and who doesn't have souls?
As far as i know the negative has about as much proof as the positive...to argue that one should have to show the evidence is a bit meaningless. As far as im aware loss of memory surely is the complete union of all cognitive processes. But to go farther down the road if youd like, I have no moral issue against ending the lives of those who are "brain dead" (though thats a tricky term to define in and of itself). To have such a qualm would obviously leaken the legitmacy of the entire argument that we dont kill humans because of some time of human process related to the mind.
Also, your entire thing presupposes a religious argument in terms of abortion. I simply favor legal ones because it does not require the viewpoint of any specific God to be chosen amongst any of the possible ones and yet the majority of individuals are willing to adhere to some type of legal authority. Are you willing to follow the rules of Tao in terms of guiding your ethical and moral behavior? Perhaps not. Are you willing to live under the legal authority of a country where many people follow the Tao? Much more likely.
Look, we already know you're an atheist who thinks you're smarter than everyone else. Stop waving your banner around, and realize that the majority of people think you're wrong.
So stop it. Just stop it.
