Montreal wins a Game 7 to halt Boston's comeback from a 3-0 deficit.

Two of the 2nd-round series are now going, while two Game 7s from the first round remain active.

Not that it really matters - but the second round series could be changed by the last 2 game sevens. The highest remaining seed in the NHL Playoffs plays the lowest remaining seed, so in the East, for example, if #3 New Jersey wins, then they should play #8 Montreal.

I get that dom...but since the seedings don't really mean much in this format, I'm just going to run it through as a straight bracket.

If we had played a full season to earn those seeds then I would take that playoff format into account.

That was my guess. This way also helps the tournament run faster. Plus, being the #8 seed, I'd much rather play #4 in the second round than #3.

I'll update the bracket Saturday night, but the St. Louis Blues (DBandit70) have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals with a 4-2 win over San Jose in the West Finals...now awaiting Pittsburgh, New Jersey or the New York Rangers out of the East.
