Disappointed returning player

I had an account a couple of years ago - premium membership. It was so fun to log in when I had some free time and play a quick (or, not so quick) game. So, I decided to come back. I had to make a new account - my old email was innactive and I had no password. I paid my money and tried to play a speed game.

No one is here anymore. There are very few speed games available, and never enough people to start playing in a moderate amount of time. I guess people quit paying to play here.

I wish more people had access to the speed games feature. I feel a little ripped off...

If you're only actively using one log in at a time, is it really a multi-sin? What is the sound of one multi playing?

I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that:

Normally I would try to be supportive but your post annoys me; what sweeping generalizations you make with your 1 week (and 6 games) of returned experience. The post certainly could have been drafted more PC.

Our group of 100+ strong is going great and the place seems fully populated....it would be nice if the whiners would decide to leave though.....lol.

Look, I'm just some guy that wanted to play Risk occassionally online. The fact that I'm willing to pay, means I have the right to "whine".

In every interactive online app, there are people that take it WAY too seriously - that LIVE for their little "virtual community". They create thier own little language, always send PM's to people they don't really know, and criticize other people in forums. It's sad on so many sociological and psychological levels that it's not worth getting into here.

I feel sorry for me because I purchased a membership under assumed (and apparently false) pretenses. My bad. No big deal, really - just annoying.

However, I feel sorry for you for other reasons. If you don't like reading my "whining", then don't read it. I promise, it won't hurt my feelings if you ignore my post. Just go play a game. Or, turn off your computer and go for a walk. Call someone you actually know on the telephone. Find something more interesting to do...

in the past 'i forgot my password' was not a suitable excuse........

Tell me something, genius... If I don't have the email adress that I created my account with, then how am I supposed to get the passowrd reset?

What is wrong with all of you? "Multiple accounts", "banning", "busting accounts"? Has this really been that big of an issue? I posted and left. I come back today and you have all called a world summitt meeting to discuss the minutia of my 6 games and what my old username is? Really? Really? Come, on...

You have missed a lot!

yes, there were a whole set of people (are periodically) who create many accounts, wrack up points. There are also people who played tricks with the forums... etc. So, admin has come down on it pretty hard.

BUT, to get back to your original question... public games available depend on the style you play, time of day, etc.

Some people have left for various reasons (the Classic issue, various multis disputes, and a whole bunch of "soap operas")

Its my experience that a lot of people are playing private games either because they don't want to play with people of low rank, don't want to potentially play with jerks whom they have not foed (though those with huge foe lists ... well.... ) or just plain like to play with their particular group.

Also, because there are so many more maps, the number playing any one at any one time shrinks. So, even if more people are playing, it can SEEM like fewer people are playing.
