Are you trying to tell me that Bush somehow made money off of attacking Iraq. I agree that the United States needs to stop being the policemen of the world but Iraq is oor ally. If we did not protect them we would realy have something to be ashamed of. And quit insulting me for being from Noth Dakota.Skittles! wrote:JJM wrote:A you saying that Saddam Hussein was not a harsh dictator. People - not from North Dakota - realise that the US just can't always butt into other countries problems. That is what has put the US in its current predicament around the world.
Bush didn't give a flying f*ck about the Iraqi's, he was doing it for Cheney and his own pocket.

You're a Brit, so you're excused for such a predictable error in judgement.
Lincoln is THE example of how Americans can be easily manipulated and snowed into believing anything. His PR men took his down home workinmanwhomadeitgood image and turned him into an American icon. This is the ass clown who denied the seceding states their constitutional rights and set the stage for Federalism to take over once and for all.
Managed the Civil War? He started the fooking thing. The worst part of it is his hypocrisy on the slavery issue. Here's the wanker who just enacted the Fugitive Slave Act, where you could be hanged for aiding and abetting an escaped slave, and he needs an emotional issue to galvanize the gullible public, so what does he hit on? That's right - slavery becomes the "reason" for the Civil War, and so it remains to this day.
The Constitution of our country gave any of the original 13 colonies the right to secede if they saw fit. The south had been getting a raw deal for years in the finacial spectrum, and finally Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, etc. decided to secede. Lincoln, a Federalist, said f*ck the Constitution, this Union must be preserved. Since then that flag has been the flag of the oppressor, and stands for bullshit. f*ck Lincoln. Thomas Jefferson was the president who did the most to stay America on the course it was meant to be on.

Yes. Truman had even lower approval ratings than Bush when he was in office.Frigidus wrote:JJM wrote:I can bet that Bush will be remembered much better than the way people think about him right now.
I'm sure Hoover felt the same way.

Hoover did not have much experience. The Presidency was his first elected office. Bush may not have done a good job at handling the economy but he did a lot for world peace.Frigidus wrote:JJM wrote:I can bet that Bush will be remembered much better than the way people think about him right now.

Lincoln did not deny their rights. The Civil War started while Abe Lincoln was president-elect during the presidency of James Buchanan. (I might have spelt that wrong.) Lincoln was president through all but the first week or so of the Civil War but James Buchanan was President during the days leading up to the war so he is to blame for making it happen.GallantPellham wrote:b.k. bar wrote:InkL0sed wrote:

LOL wut?
Hoover was a member of the Cabinets of Harding and Coolidge. But yeah, no experience whatsoever.
That doesen't count for much. Although Hoover did try to do good as President and he did have some good accomplishments but not all that great at handling the economy.InkL0sed wrote:So what? That counts as experience in my book, especially since a lot of people thought he was more influential than both Harding and Coolidge as Commerce Secretary.
