I think it should be doubled if you miss 1 turn (we all miss turns here and there) but i think for more than 1 turn missed the troops should only be doubled.

What about a message box .. that is not a pop up and is an acceptable javascript way to get a confirmation to the request to skip a turn, thus making a double buy in and removing accidental hittings of a skip turn button.
The other way is to implement a check box next to the skip turn button, kind of like a rifles safety catch... you need to click the check box then click the button to skip a turn.
I know people will still potentially make a mistake using these double buy ins but hey, darwins theory should apply at that level ...
Perhaps, a better solution for the missed turn army allocation be calculated at only 80% (rounded down) of reinforcements.
Proposal:-
The missed turn -> 3 (9 territories) + 2 (1 continent bonus) = 5
Therefore; 80% * 5 = 4
2nd to be played turn -> 3 (9 territories) + 2 (1 continent bonus) = 5
So, 4 + 5 = 9
While the missed turn player concerned was penalised marginally but the game is still playable for him/her. Kindly think about my proposal for a second, as a good number of games are exploiting this loophole.
I am very much opposed to the rewarding of the deadbeat by multiplying his armies by two when a turn is missed. I have been in too many games where this is used as a tactic. In my opinion, if someone misses a turn they should not be remotely rewarded. While I understand things happen and turns are missed unintentionally, my opinion stands. Anyone agree or any other thoughts that might change my stance? What is your vote? Stop the rewarding or continue as is?
Instead of starting a new thread about it, read all of the others that already exist! There are plenty of thoughts ideas and opinions already shared on the topic.
But to counter your argument I would like to point out 2 things- first of all, missing a turn does not make you a deadbeat. Deadbeating is the term for missing 3 in a row and being kicked out of the game.
Secondly, you are not rewarded for missing your turn, you only get the armies you would have recieved had you been able to play. In fact it puts you at a disadvantage because you don't get a card for any turn you miss, and your opponents have the chance to attack you and make your bonus even less. The only possible advantage it gives you is a slight element of surprise since you get to place the armies from multiple rounds at once. However that added surprise in most cases won't help you because your opponents will likely get stronger while you are away.
The added benefit of getting multiplied armies is that you can afford to be away for a day or a weekend and not stay shut in your house because you need to play this infernal game. The benefits of being able to have a life outside of CC far out way the extremely small benefits that abusing missed turns can yield.
We sit waiting for them to take a turn and instead of getting punished for keeping everyone waiting they get rewarded.I do not think this is fair.They should not any troops...let alone double.
check the Suggestion Box at the top of the forum, the idea of not doubling has been discussed and rejected many times. even though it does suck, it's going to stand.
...where I'm from, we believe all sorts of things that aren't true. We call it -- "history"
but it should be eliminated... I´ve seen people that misses two turns in a row, just to get triple armies in the third turn, they get 9 armies just like that. I think thats totally unfair and it should be removed from conquerclub... And if you want to leave it there, then do this: when somebody misses a turn, let him get the armies, but if he wins a territory, we doesn´t get a card...
Accumulating banked armies is crap. We had a player announce that they would be gone on vacation for 2 weeks and wouldn't be able to play. Nobody attacked him since he was going to be dumped out after 3 days anyway. He came back in day 3 and added 21 armies since he had a continent. Stupid us for believing him but stupid rules for allowing it. People who miss waste our time and are also rewarded for it.....silly.

All part of the game - Chamberlain believed Hitler and look where that got him.
why do you get double troops after missing a go? it really isn't fair for the rest of the players for someone to miss a go and come back with 2 rounds of troops for 1 move. so many times i've been in a game, someone has missed a turn and it has affected the outcome of the game.
especially in no card games, i'm playing a game at the moment, someone who was getting 16 troops per turn missed a turn. to stop him getting 32 when he comes back i attacked him and the guy he was attacking (who was pretty weak but could've built up troops pretty fast if left alone) and of course the guy who i had been attacking before couldn't believe his luck and attacked me.
i'm not complaining about that game just giving 1 example of many similar games. i've missed turns before and kicked ass with double troops in the next round. it just isn't fair though.

Totally agree. Anyone who thinks you should get the troops you would have gotten for missed turns, is a person who uses this strategy, or a administrator, who doesn't want to rewrite a few lines of code. Yes, there are people who sometimes can't get to thier PC, but if they miss a turn, that's their fault for starting or joining the game. You snooze, you SHOULD lose.

have you guys ever been on vacation, and had a hard time finding a computer? or have you ever not been able to get to a computer by those last couple seconds. The missed armeis are a nice feature to make this more of a laidback envrionment, it's a shame peopel abuse it.
I propose we make it a option for games. That you can chose to play with it or not. That was if people want the laid back game, they can use it, and if people want a cut throat game, they can not use it.
Blades will bleed. Shields will shatter. But as the light fades, will the hero rise again or will darkness reign?
I dont like the fact that people abuse the deadbeating, but its not nearly as bad as the abuse that would spring up if they were to change it.
3v3 or 2v2 freestyles would have a much bigger problem to be exploited... the cheap ass strategy of finishing your teams' turn first and then waiting till the end of a 24 hour period to start the next turn, giving the next team almost no time left. As of now, its a problem, and if the armies didnt double up for missed turns... trouble.
Related but not - must we lose troops that were not deployed if we run out of time...?
Game 185186 - I started my turn, cashed in cards and then lost access to the site - not sure if it was CC server, ISP, aussie rubbish international access, whatever - but I ran out of time, so next turn I had no cards, and only 3 armies! Lost ~9 armies I think, right near the start of a game...
Or could this be exploited if armies not deployed are carried over...?
once i was ill OMG and i couldn't come on cc is it really my fault I'm ill if I can't come online you shouldn't be punished if it was a realtime game maybe but this is the layout of the site if you don't like it leave
