well that's even better news.flexmaster33 wrote:Correct...your single best mark from the three prelim maps is what sends you into the finals (top-10) for three more chances.
The final placing is based on your best effort among the six total maps (jumps)
Plash.Ricrem keeps vaulting like its his job, clearing 15" with relative ease (5365237) When asked about Andir's solid triple jump, Ricrem noted it was a good effort but, "Seriously, who takes 20 rounds to finish the job? The regulations dealing with games that end after 15 rounds should hopefully put a damper on his enthusiasm a bit."flexmaster33 wrote:We're starting up finals in several events now, so the Scoreboard will go up in a few days...LSU is off to a big start with two advancing in the 100-meter dash (Natewolfman and poptart)...the Tigers are also in the finals for the 400-meter relay...bunch of sprinters in Baton Rouge!!!
In the pole vault we have four eliminated with the bar about ready to move up to its third height of 15 feet. Seven competitors have gone through without a miss so far.

Andir was overheard talking to a teammate about plash.ricrem's interview, "When someone gives me 15 steps to build up speed for the jump, I'm going to take them. There's no need to jump after taking only 10. Besides getting the extra length for outpacing the rest of my opponents, I had five extra steps to gain some speed for the final measure."plash.ricrem wrote:When asked about Andir's solid triple jump, Ricrem noted it was a good effort but, "Seriously, who takes 20 rounds to finish the job? You do raise a fine point. Judging from an initial glance at your jump, it looks like I should have taken a couple of more steps (rounds) to finish the job. Hopefully i'll get another chance to work on that in my future jumps.Andir wrote:Andir was overheard talking to a teammate about plash.ricrem's interview, "When someone gives me 15 steps to build up speed for the jump, I'm going to take them. In a somewhat surprising result, usually lead legged Plash.Ricrem wins his first prelim race by turning it on the final 100 meters (back to back turn mixed sets) to secure the victory.flexmaster33 wrote:400-meter prelims going out in the morning...
