Treason is such things as waging war upon the crown, or having affairs with certain royals. It is not extended to protecting foreign rulers.

I actually trust Danny Williams, the Premier of my province to tell the truth. He's got a bad wrap for taking aggressive stances against deals that don't necessarily do NFLD justice and he's very straightforward. Not to mention he was also a lawyer before going into politics. He may still be involved.

And just being accused of being a liar (like that fuckwit in Congress did to the President) doesn't mean someone is no longer trustworthy. Pundits love to claim lies when it's really just misunderstanding, or willful misinterpretation by the opposition.
