I don't think he was really saying that. Rather that the existence of the prophecy drove many to demand that Israel be established. In that way the prophecy became self-fulfilling. It spawned a political movement for it's fulfillment.beezer wrote:Neoteny wrote:Because then people who associate themselves with Israel would try to fulfill the prophecy by starting up the country?
Interesting. Seriously not trying to be sarcastic here. I never looked at that particular prophecy in that way. The problem would then be that the Jews would have to be willing participants in the overthrow, torture, imprisonment, and degradation of their own people in the first place. That seems highly unlikely for them to be willing to go through years of being dispersed.
I see what you are saying and will be willing to concede that is very likely the case.Symmetry wrote:I don't think he was really saying that. This is sort of a different point that you're making now, and I'm a little uncertain about which particular prophecy you mean.jesterhawk wrote:I see what you are saying and will be willing to concede that is very likely the case.Symmetry wrote:I don't think he was really saying that. However, the fact that Israel was overthrown and lost their homeland was still part of the prophesy and I doubt they were (at least a good majority) self-fulfilling that prophesy.

Us North Dakota are very smart. We have the lowest unemployment rate in the nation and it is because our Governor John Hoeven has more common sense than any of your governors. The Midwest seems to have more common sense than the rest of the Nation. As to what symmetry has to do with this debate, what are the chances that we would be symmetrical if a big bang created us. We are in fact symmetrical. We are not Symmetrical front to back but we are symmetrical left to right.comic boy wrote:If there is a God then how does Jim explain the number of retarded throwbacks that seem to populate North Dakota

I think I might see where you are going with this, that a symmetrical body is an indication of an intelligent design rather than the product of of natural selection and random mutation? Without further explanation I still think that you are presenting another weak argument for evidence of intelligent design.2.If You believe we were created by a "big bang" then why our all our body symmetrical.
But, I wouldn't worry If you were you...
As lame as your arguments are, you are still on the side of some of the greatest minds that mankind has ever known...

The shape of our bodies are symmetrical. Our spinal cord runs down the center so the heart had to either be on one side or the other.Symmetry wrote:Hey- don't count me out!JJM wrote:Us North Dakota are very smart. Wow. I am not sure if I should laugh or cry.JJM wrote:The shape of our bodies are symmetrical. Our spinal cord runs down the center so the heart had to either be on one side or the other.
The big bang didn't create us, evolution did. Also as we are made by evolution, why wouldn't we be symmetrical. What in the evidence of evolution states that we shouldn't be symmetrical?JJM wrote:Us North Dakota are very smart. That's not symmetry then. I guess by shape you refer only to the outside of the body. In that case, of course, nobody is truly symmetrical and many people are born with pronounced asymmetrical features.JJM wrote:The shape of our bodies are symmetrical. So what is your theory about how the world and everything else got here in the first place. As to your comment about North Dakota I would like to know where you got that information. North Dakota is actually in a Economic Surplus. Sorry but the rest of the Nation and the rest of the World just isn't as smart as North Dakota and Midwestern United States.Titanic wrote:The big bang didn't create us, evolution did. Btw GDP per capita in N.Dakota is below the US average, so even if you say you do have common sense, you lack brains.
Where does it say this?JJM wrote:how do you think the Bible predicted that Israel would once again become a nation?
The big bang created the universe, but it didn't create this. Your theory means that I could say that the Treaty of Versailles created the fall of the Berlin Wall.JJM wrote:So what is your theory about how the world and everything else got here in the first place. O, and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U. ... _(nominal). Also, if the mid west was so smart, why are there so many poor dumb people there?
The United States Average is 39,700 some and the North Dakota Average is 39,300 some. North Dakota still ranked in the top half among the states. At the top were D.C. and Connecticut. There are not very many poor dumps in North Dakota. North Dakota does not have a large population in comparison to most states so it would be difficult to start a multi-million dollar business in North Dakota and most multi-millionaires would rather live in someplace with warmer weather than North Dakota. So we don't have as many super rich to bring up our average but we do infant have the largest income growth rate in the nation.Titanic wrote:

Fargo is in North Dakota unless you are referring to the movie. The movie is hated by many North Dakotains. It is not an accurate source of information about North Dakota. Now lets move on from discussing North Dakota.Symmetry wrote:
