A more organized Mafia Forum?

William and I were sort of discussing this in his necro-bumped icepeak mafia thread. So, rather than having it there (where no one else will see it) I'm moving discussion here. This is what has been said so far:

As far as the amount of activity this forum gets, I don't think that would be so much of an issue. We have about 20 or so (semi)regular members and we always have a handful of people popping in from time to time (whether to return after a long vacation, try out mafia for the first time, play an occasional rt, or other reason). Plus, we are growing steadily. All in all, I think we get more activity than the turtle soup forum (and definitely more than the C&A and suggestions forums). In the past OP was considering making subforums for TS by topic, (e.g. religious discussion, politics, spam, etc.) so why not make our forum more like theirs? I mean, the least he could do is approve a mod to lock our old games.

I also don't think it would be that difficult to implement. The forums and mods get moved and renamed all the time so obviously it isn't hard to do so. Lack could just throw it in when he next decides to randomly rearrange the forums.

Or maybe I'm overthinking this and should go with the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of mentality...

I think a single mafia forum is good enough. Old things can just work their way to the back pages. There isn't that much need for a mod to manage this place. This forum is WAY less used that Turtle Soup and I have no idea how you can to your conclusion.

Turtle soup has a lot more threads and posts, but in terms of people who use it, I think we are about the same. Whenever I read any threads in there, I typically see the same 15-20 people posting. They just post more than we do. And with all the bans lately and others leaving when friends are banned, I'd say their forum is shrinking instead of growing.

The only case of that I've seen here was when suspect101 was banned

I don't think it's really need either. Honestly, perhaps the first page and maybe the first handful of topics on the second page are active [and that's rare around here these days], and it really isn't that hard to find topics in here, at least that's what I think. And sometimes, it's fun bumping up old threads, for whatever the reason it may be.

Lol, it was actually kalish who claimed it during a hissy fit, ga7 replaced him and inheritted the most (un)beleivable fake claim of all time althoguh he still lost thanks to nate.

If you guys really want to make it more organized, set up a plan for how you'd like it (all in 1 forum would be my suggestion) and I can talk to OP/Andy about seeing if they would mind us getting an unofficial - official way of trying things out for now (volunteering myself to mod it so we can try it on a trial basis) and we can see if they agree then give it a go.

Sounds great fuzzy, i suggest you join the mafioso user group aswell.

Personally I agree it should all be in one forum, its jsut the stickies and game organisation etc that could be better IMO.
