I'm sure most people if not everyone interested in the world of music has come accross the gunfire of the heated battle between Mariah and Eminem. My question is ... what do you guys think? I'm only putting 2 options here so you have to take a side if you have an opinion. Let's hear it.
According to the rumors; Eminem and Mariah were intimate. She denies this. She meets another actor/singer Nick Cannon and marries him. Eminem's first song was "Bagpipes from Baghdad". I can't really put the lyrics here but it can be looked up or listened to.
Key sentences from his song however include:
"Locked in Mariah's wine cellar, all I had for lunch was bread, wine, more bread, wine and Cap'n Crunch"
"Mariah, whatever happened to us? Why did we have to break up?..."
"... Nick Cannon better back the f___ up. I'm not playin', I want her back you punk."
"And yeah baby, I want another crack at ya, you can beat me with any spatula that you want."
Maria responded with a top radio hit "Obsessed".
Her song doesn't involve a 10th of the crude nature of Eminem's material:
"All up in the blos sayin' we met at the bar, when I don't even know who you are, Sayin we up in your house, sayin I'm up in your car."
"But you in LA, and I'm out at Jermaine's I'm up in the A, you so, so lame and no one here even mentions your name. It must be the weed, it muste be the E "Cuz you be poppin" hood, you get it poppin."
"Why you so obsessed with me? Boy, I wanna know, Lyin's that you're Sexin me when everybody knows. It's clear that you're upset with me, Finally found a girl that you couldn't impress. Last man on the earth still couldn't get this."
"You're delusional, you're delusional, boy you're loosin your mind. It's confusin' you, you're confused you know. Why you wastin your time? Got you all fired up with your Napoleon complex, See'in right through you like you're bathin' in Windex."
(And my personal favorite):
"Tellin' the world how much you miss me, but we never were, so why you trippin' You a mom and pop, I'm a corporation. I'm the press conference, you're a conversation!
So Eminem responded with: "The Warning".
(It's tough finding lyrics from Eminem that can be put on a public forum but feel free to look up the whole song yourselves).
"Only reason I dissed you in the first place was beacuse you denied seeing me. Now I'm pissed off."
"Oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee? Wow Mariah, didn't expect you to go balls out. B___ shut the F___ up before I put all them phone calls out you made to my house when you was wild-n-out before Nick. When you was on my D___ and give you somethin to smile about."
"Enough dirt on you to murder you, this is what the F___ I do. Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures? However you prefer to do and that goes for Nick too fa___ you think I'm scared of you?"
... - Anyway, we all get where this is going. A friend of mine has told me that nobody "Disses" Eminem and maintains a carreer in the music industry. He referenced "Fat Joe, Ja Rule" etc... I personally happen to think that while Eminem may be a good performer and entertainer to a certain audience, Mariah is a legend in the world of music and will not suffer from any confrontation for market-share.
So I bring this here to you guys. What do you think? Who would you support?

Feels like pop star bs and cheap publicity, something M&M has always done well.
Thing is... if you're into music none of this petty personal stuff matters.
The myth of personality doesn't make the music better.

2. Mariah gets around. She also fucked Derek Jeter, so, she's a star fucker who is not relevant as far as music today.
I fixed it. I'm not used to making polls, I just assumed people could only take 1 option. It took me going back and looking at it again. Fixed now
So why do you believe she's irrelevant as far as music today? I do realize this may become a question about tastes and how you measure success in the industry but it's still a good question.
I'm not concerned with who she's done or who she's done with. I do realize there is a gossip industry making a fortune off of the actions of all celebrities, but it's none of my business. Success in "The Industry" is not measured by the quality of the music, it's measured by the sales receipts and Mariah has done extremely well.
Her relevance today is a matter of taste. Even though she is a gifted vocalist, she may be remembered more for the numbers of albums sold than the songs she actually sang. Only time will tell.
I looked up that womans' wikipedia and she looks goddamned ugly as sin. Not to mention the article itself was so convoluted I couldn't even read a single word. I support eminim because his biography is probably better.
Oh and I heard from a little reliable source that this topic is breeding grounds for those claiming to be "flaming homosexuals". I'd advise the upmost caution to be taken whilst discussing such forbidden topics as these..........

My subscription to The National Enquirer lapsed, so this thread is the first mention I've read
on such a noteworthy subject as this potentially international scandal.

Yup.
Haven't heard anything about any of this until reading Conquer Club.
I like Mariah Carey's music, but she is not relevant anymore. Eminem hasn't exactly produced new music (or did his new album come out?). I like Eminem. I like Mariah. But it is funny for Mariah to be claiming to be an innocent, when she got around in her day.
