Over the past few months there have been changes made to the community guidelines. I am sure that it sounded like a good idea to make this site more " P. C." The administration probably feels that in the long run it would increase membership, increasing revenues. Otherwise why put the current membership and the volunteer mods thru the painful growing pains of change?
I've been here since 2007, when c.c.'s policy was pretty liberal, basically if you didnt like things you were told to foe them and or suck it up cupcake was a common response. Neither of these approaches are perfect, although personally i would like C.C. to relax their guidelines, but i digress.
The current problem with the more conservative approach that has been taken is that there seems to be a lack of consistency with the enforcement of the rules, it seems that certain people can push the envelope time and time again and the mods will look the other way, as well as some current and past mods seem to get more lee way.
My post isnt to bash the mods, but if things continue, the guidelines need to be enforced objectively and consistently for everyone.
Perhaps there should be a section of c.c. for people who arent easily offended, possibly age restricted, I know C.C. doesnt want to be responsible for managing personal info, fine, perhaps follow ebays system, or craigslist, where you the user in order to enter an age restricted section of the site need to check a box saying you are over the age of "x" simple enough, no documentation required.
