Don't we already have a thread titled "Bias in the Media"?Phatscotty wrote:We should have a thread to discuss instances of Media Biased.

Don't read Time Magazine either.spurgistan wrote:The left-wing media is biased, by definition. Don't read The Daily Worker for a fair and balanced account of what's going on. Read it, by all means, but realize that they will never side with the bourgeoisie.

Would you say the political commentators on MSNBC are center? People take what they say as serious news.PLAYER57832 wrote:Trouble is, too many people don't even know what left wing media is saying. They are so used to plain conservative media that anything approaching center is "left wing", except when it comes to some very specific issues (race, gender mostly).
As was said above, I don't mind left OR right wing media. That's opinion. Agree or disagree. I mind the ones that pretend to be "objective" while voicing a lot of virulant and highly biased "information".

They are definitely not truly left, only a bit more left than many of the "standard" commentaries. However, even the truly "right wing" commentaries can have areas where they are actually leftist (mostly to do with race and some gender issues .. things that were radical just a generation ago, but now are accepted by all, such as the idea that its OK for a woman to head a company).john9blue wrote:Would you say the political commentators on MSNBC are center? ... This, from a person who frequently tells us that free market solutions are folly, and that government is responsible for much (if not most) of our well-being.

It's the person. Maybe it's the person and not her party.
Agreed. I've had just about as much of Palin as I ever care to.thegreekdog wrote:I will not read this book.
It is very suspect that no one (except those damn conservative media members) fact-checked President Obama's book(s) and that none of the authors listed above have been fact checked. I think it's pretty substantial evidence of liberal media bias.Frigidus wrote:Agreed. I've had just about as much of Palin as I ever care to.thegreekdog wrote:I will not read this book.
Personally, I feel that anyone who fact check books the majority of their viewers will never read is in itself an indication of bias. A politician releasing anecdotes or a biography is not newsworthy. It's barely notable.thegreekdog wrote:It is very suspect that no one (except those damn conservative media members) fact-checked President Obama's book(s) and that none of the authors listed above have been fact checked.
