It's an impossible streak to accept. Michigan owns the record for most consecutive bowl appearances - in fact, I'm 28, and last year was the first time in my lifetime that Michigan hadn't played in a bowl game. I am all for going firing Rich Rod and going after Les Miles (a Michigan alum) or anyone else. I believe the offense Rod is running is gimmicky. Michigan succeeded for years running a pro-style offense, and could continue to do so while modernizing to the times.oVo wrote:Hard to believe Michigan could wind up out of the bowl games again.
That's a tough streak to accept for the Wolverines.

Just depends on how each team matches up against another's style of play.72o wrote:Pitt lost to NC State. We beat NC State. We lost to Maryland.
Meaning Cincy will pwn Pitt. The debate is over.

your posts are always worth a good laughmuy_thaiguy wrote:Watching the game, I can honestly say that the Horned Frogs are better then the Longhorns. Sure, a slow first quarter, and most of the second, but then they just blew right on through us with two touchdowns in the last 3 minutes or so of the 2nd. It took the Longhorns the entire first half and halftime to get back up.

And, TCU's head coach said himself, that he called off the dogs in the 4th quarter. That being the only reason why TCU wasn't higher then Texas. Though, when you need fewer 1st downs and yards to get more points (4, I know, but still more), that is saying something.oVo wrote:It's amazing how similar the TCU and Texas games against Wyoming were,
with the Cowboys scoring no offensive touchdowns...
Even the scoring in those games was parallel as three touchdowns were put
on the board in the third quarter.
Texas gained more yards on the Wyoming defense, but TCU only surrendered
five first downs to the Cowboys for the entire game.
Week 2, Texas 41 Wyoming 10. the Cowboys only TD came on the six yard
return of a blocked punt in the second quarter. The Longhorns offense nets
544 yards and 27 first downs.
Week 11, TCU 45 Wyoming 10, the Cowboys only TD came on a fumble
returned 98 yards in the second quarter. The Horned Frogs offense nets
507 yards and 25 first downs.
Should both Alabama and Florida lose a game, maybe the debate over which team
is the Lone Star State's best will get answered on the field. There's currently six
undefeated teams left and TCU has no big hurdles remaining before they go bowling.
btw... I can't remember Kentucky ever winning a football game in Athens.
I dont agree that you can compare the 2 separate games and try to come out with an assumption that one team is better then the other. Every Saturday is different. And cause Texas did this vs Wyoming and TCU did this doesnt tell me that TCU could beat Texas.muy_thaiguy wrote: And, TCU's head coach said himself, that he called off the dogs in the 4th quarter. Quick search reveals it was 32 years since the last Wildcat win at Georgia.oVo wrote:btw... I can't remember Kentucky ever winning a football game in Athens.

Go pokes! And I agree TCU deserves a spot in the National picture, I'm also hoping Nebraska's defense shuts down the longhorns and plays the spoiler.muy_thaiguy wrote:Watching the game, I can honestly say that the Horned Frogs are better then the Longhorns. Now that the game is over (and formerly winless New Mexico beats down CSU), I will root for TCU for a BCS bowl (and hopefully the NC) and Wyoming to beat the sheep take home the Bronze Boot.
While that would be great fun (my wife is the biggest Cornhusker nut you'll ever meet), it's just not gonna happen. Well, the defense might play that part actually...but the offense will help Texas score enough.TheMissionary wrote:Go pokes!
