I know, these are cheap, fully ambidextrous, and much closer to a Sig instead of a 1911. So not at all a para. I defintely would have told if you were right.

Just to jump in here.....this rugar was my first pistol, 36 years ago ;o) Sweet little gun, although mine is the basic model, not the competitive shooter with the good sights / bull barrel....fun!

Mine was the target model similar to the one pictured, with the 6 7/8 in bull barrel. I remember when I took it to get it registered (i lived in California at the time) i told the lady at the desk that the barrel length was 6 7/8 and she said, "Uh oh, we only register hand guns up to 6 inches in length." I began to panic, until she laid it on the sizing mat on her counter and proclaimed that it was only 6 inches. I was quite relieved, it was the first gun I ever purchased and I thought I was screwed right off the bat!
