Oh, I see what you're saying...I misunderstood. I don't know that it was political correctness as much as it was lack of funding. At the time I left the military (July of 2007), investigations were six months behind. In other words, if an individual's paperwork was turned in during the month of July, it wouldn't be seen until January. That doesn't mean the individual would have a clearance during that time, of course, but it highlights the likelihood that things would be overlooked simply from lack of care due to overwork.Phatscotty wrote:you misunderstood. NOW they are, yes. but it seems the investigations that took place BEFORE the shootings....Woodruff wrote:That you believe the Army isn't looking into this with every fiber of their being just shows me that you don't know the military very well.Phatscotty wrote:Either way, Political Correctness is responsible for the Army not looking into the red flags deeper. and I believe the massacre could and should have been prevented
simply saying, when weighing the evidence of whether this act can be defined as terrorism or "a crazy guy". the fact that he had been under surveilance by the FBI terror task force leans more towards the terrorist category, than it does the crazy guy categoryWoodruff wrote:Oh, I see what you're saying...I misunderstood. The FBI investigates many people suspected of terrorism and about 95% of these suspicions are baseless after closer scrutiny.Phatscotty wrote:simply saying, when weighing the evidence of whether this act can be defined as terrorism or "a crazy guy". the fact that he had been under surveilance by the FBI terror task force leans more towards the terrorist category, than it does the crazy guy categoryWoodruff wrote:Oh, I see what you're saying...I misunderstood. It doesn't lean toward a terrorism charge, since he would have been cleared of that suspicion. You know...that whole innocent-until-proven-guilty thing that keeps getting in the way!Phatscotty wrote:previously being investigated by the terror task force leans toward "a cragy guy with a gun" theory?Woodruff wrote:No, not really, to be honest.Phatscotty wrote:simply saying, when weighing the evidence of whether this act can be defined as terrorism or "a crazy guy". the fact that he had been under surveilance by the FBI terror task force leans more towards the terrorist category, than it does the crazy guy category

no, but we are seeing NOW the network that we were talking about BEFORE, with others and such saying "he was just a lone-nut". well yeah maybe, but he if he is connected to another "lone nut" then we have a network, i guess.....of, "lone nuts"spurgistan wrote:Not really. Well no, but a lot of people will be more suspicious of you. There is a classic case here of a guy who was suspected of a high profile murder (might have been Jill Dando) and even when the judge threw out the case (the police investigation was terrible) there were loads of newspapers and members of the public who attacked or demeaned him.Snorri1234 wrote: This is true.
My point was and is still valid though. Phatscotty implied that since he was investigated by the FBI it's probable that he was a terrorist, and I pointed out that by the same leap of logic in the opposite direction he wasn't because he wasn't arrested.
If someone is murdered and you are investigated does that mean you probably did it?

Carleton University is in Ottawa, Canada. At Carleton the students participate in the annual Shinearama fundraiser. This is an annual fundraising event involving students from 65 colleges and universities across Canada. Carleton has been involved for 25 of the 50 years of the Shinearama; but no longer.
The Shinearama, you see, has been raising money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. That's not good, at least insofar as the Carleton University Student's Association is concerned. The student association was told that Cystic Fibrosis only affects white people. This meant that the disease was not inclusive enough. So ... Carleton University is out. Now these bright students have figured out that Cystic Fibrosis actually affects some people of color - and they're looking for a way to get out of this mess.
