I disagree... having no problem with acupuncture, chiropractors, nutritionists
or other sources of natural healing. Maybe you have personal experience with
Libertarianism and abstinence only education, but avoided the rest and accept
the hearsay testimony of naysayers about potential health alternatives.
Dude, I don't fucking need hearsay testimony. In fact, that would be about the dumbest thing to use when making up your mind about alternative treatments. The only reason people do this kind of shit is because they heard great things about it from their friend's mother's cousin who totally got cured from Crohn's by having their spine manipulated.
Acupuncture is based on complete bullshit magic. Studies have shown this. One german study compared meridan-magic acupuncture to sham acupuncture where they just made up random patterns of needles and it turns out they both work exactly as good. They even compared it to using a retractable needle which didn't actually go into the skin (they patient merely thought they entered) and big suprise that worked fine too. The common opinion now is that it's mostly a placebo-effect coupled with a slight benefit of having endorphins released trough nerve-stimulation.
Endresult: Bollocks.
Chiropratic is based on holistic principles. Holistic stands for untestable metaphysical bullshit.
Wait... let's check what wiki says:
Straight chiropractors believe that vertebral subluxation leads to interference with an "Innate Intelligence" exerted via the human nervous system and is a primary underlying risk factor for many diseases. Straights view the medical diagnosis of patient complaints (which they consider to be the "secondary effects" of subluxations) to be unnecessary for chiropractic treatment.
It's based on magic....
Nutrionists are just dumb. It's not a protected term, so anyone can call themselves one. Anyone who has actually studied nutrition and diet in professional ways is a dietician. If that's not the term they're using, they're frauds out to make a quick buck by telling you you're allergic to wheat or something.
Libertarianism is just a dumb political philosophy. It's dumbness needs no further explanation here.
