AC/DC or Metallica

I am having a fight with one of my friends over whose better metallica or AC/DC.

if you don't know who I'm talking about AC/DC was a rock band in the 70's and 80's and Metallica is a metal band.

I want to know what you guys think so I can prove to my friend that AC/DC rules

Thunderstruck live was incredible (it was the tour for that album) those guys put on an amazing show every time out!

I love Metallica (at least the older stuff before the black album came out and they whined about filesharing) but AC/DC is pretty good too. They're quite different styles of music, it's kinda like apples and oranges, except you're listening to them instead of eating them.

I was always a huge Metallica fan (until reload) and although AC/DC are good, for me there is no contest. I voted Metallica

There needs to be another option here.

There is no way I could make a decision in a poll like this. Both are outstanding. I'm 43 so I grew up listening to AC/DC. I was a junior in high school when Back in Black came out.

I didn't start listening to Metallica until the late 80s, but really like them. Unlike some people who say they like Metallica up to a certain album (see, I am old) I listen to all of their stuff. I even like some of the songs off of St. Anger.

It was a hard choice for me, but i voted for Metallica.

AC/DC is a great band and I love a lot of their songs, but I'm more into Metal myself, and that was the deciding factor of why I picked Metallica.

I never really listened to AC/DC stuff. Although I know their greatest hits, but I'm a die hard Metallica fan (all the way to Load ewwwwwww).
Though I must agree than Maiden kicks their ass

I had to go with AC/DC. Like Lack said, really distinctly different, but over all work, had to go with the more classic band. No dis on Metallica though.

I like Enter Sandman and Some kind of Monster but I don't like the rest of metallica's and AC/DC is just so much better

Metallica were good up to and including the black album. After that it all goes downhill, when they started blaming napster for declining record sales, when the truth was their more recent albums were pish.
