Human Civilization On Earth Poll

Post by HapSmo19 »

Just wondering how closely this correlates to the USA Poll. Think of this as the control experiment.

Answer honestly.

We are a parasitical, virus like disease on the surface of this rare and intricate web of life.
We consume for the sake of consumption, hoard resources to the point where we would rather destroy them than disperse them to those that are in dire need.
We pollute and ruin every environment we find for the sake of exploiting it's natural wealth.
We slaughter each other in the name of belief and money, and become blindingly obtuse to the suffering and cruelty of the weak.

We should be exterminated to the last man woman and child.

Do you ever wonder what the reaction of an extra-terrestrial sentient race would be if they ever came to this planet? It would be like finding a champion pure-bred show dog with a very bad infestation of fleas, or a homeowner finding a Victorian era mansion filled with rats.

I hope that when they come, they don't think twice.

On that note:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I couldn't bring myself to vote in the American poll, as there are good and bad things in, if not equal measure, similar amounts. The same can be said of civilization as a whole. Too many things piss me off for me to endorse it, but it isn't something to be reviled.

I wouldn't exist without it, and I'm glad I'm in existence, so I like it.

Though there are some people who are moronic and feel like they can anything ignoring any consequences. They deserve to be Chinese Water-tortured.

The poll isn't whether you wholeheartedly endorse civilization or not...it's simply where you "like" it. Surely, you either "like" or "dislike" civilization?

I hate this place. This zoo. This prison. This reality, whatever you want to call it, I can't stand it any longer. It's the smell, if there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it. I can taste your stink and every time I do, I fear that I've somehow been infected by it.

I voted yes. That wasn't me talking above... not sure who it was...

I'm not sure that is what he is asking. Obviously I am for the broader idea of civilization, otherwise I'd be a hermit. I interpreted his question as "Do you like or dislike the variety of specific civilizations found in the modern world".

Love that movie.

Yes, I would like humans to develop a proper civilisation on earth.
I think it could be great. It should definitely be allowed.

Kindergarten experiments are nice as long as we do not forget that it soon is time for humanity to start elementary school.

According to Jared Diamond, we were happier and healthier as hunter-gatherers. And he's a scientist who studies these sorts of things. So, there's that.

I believe someone once asked Ghandi what he thought of western civilisation.
He replied it would be a good idea.

Do I like the current situation, probably not, I believe our potential is just so much greater then the current situation we are in. However there is no denying that we owe so so much to human civilisation (thats a weird sentence).
