F***. Game over man, game over.

Though, if the Jets lose, I will support the Texans in the playoffs because I love Andre Johnson.

Dang! I don't want to sound mean after the Bengals lost one of their players, but that was a pretty pathetic effort on their part...or is it just that the Jets are that dominant?!!

Ochocinco got marooned on Revis Island baby!

He said he'd go back to going by Johnson if he got shut out. Well he did!

I can't wait for next week. I really hope the Jets can hold it together and beat the Bengals again. What a great game, what a great season. These are definitely not the same old Jets. This is a team on the rise. We won't be the lovable losers forever! Soon everyone will be hating us and I can't wait!

Bah! That happens to teams every year. Look at the Cowboys this year, swept by the Giants in their division games, but who's going to the playoffs?

The Jets only are in the 'offs because the Colts and Bengies handed them it on a silver platter. They would've gotten romped by both if they played full strength.

Falcons have winning record in consecutive seasons for the first time EVER! now if we can find a way to get into the playoffs in consecutive seasons the next step will be to win the super bowl in consecutive seasons.

Ha ha ha the GIANTS did something very rare this year by starting out 5-0 and missing the playoffs.
Btw dave... if you're like NY and missed it? It's the Cowboys who swept the Eagles
and are now the NFC East Champs
.

Guess we'll see next week. Cincinnati will have a few players available for the playoffs that didn't play tonight and if the Jets advance they will travel to Indianapolis. Of course outdoing the Giants collapse
in the NFC is the Broncos in the AFC who started out this season 6-0 and ended it today at KC.

Looking back at yesterday's games the Philly/Dallas game had the most on the line
as both teams could improve their position in the playoffs. The Ravens and Jets
both had to win to get in, but their opponents status wouldn't be altered.

The Eagles missed out on becoming the NFC's #2 seed and a chance at actually
having home field for the duration of the playoffs if the Saints fail to end their
three game losing streak in round two.

Now the NFC goes through New Orleans and Minnesota... where very few games
have been lost. The Vikings are undefeated at home this year, while the Saints
lost only twice in the Super Dome.

Hey, check this out. Eagles' fans like Greekdog or Cowboys fans might be particularly interested in this slice of schadenfreude. I'm just going to provide a teaser, follow the link to the article for the full text (there's a bunch), and a video. Wow.

http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2010 ... and_c.html
Minutes after coach Tom Coughlin talked in generalities about fixing the Giants and after general manager Jerry Reese used the injury crutch to explain the team’s average season that concluded on Sunday with a second straight embarrassing loss, team president and CEO John Mara walked into the media room and unloaded on his team.

Mara’s words were so poignant and perfect they deserved to be disturbed as little as possible. So here he is unleaded:

On how disappointing this season was
“Probably as disappointed as I’ve ever been in my life at this team, given the expectations we had this year, given the roster I thought we had, given the way we started out and given the embarrassment of the last two weeks.”

On what he’s disappointed about
“Everything. I’m disappointed in everything. I’m unhappy at everybody. It’s just not acceptable to perform like that. There are 8-8 seasons and there are 8-8 seasons, but this one felt a lot more like 2-14 to me.”

On if he’ll be influenced more by what he saw late in the season than in the 5-0 start
“Well, I’m less than 24 hours after the end of the season, so I’m sure I’ll cool down at some point and we’ll try to make intelligent decisions going forward. And I’ll sit down with the coaches and general manager. We’ll do what we need to do to improve the team, but obviously I’m not very happy right now and they know that.”

Sure it's a disappointment after a great start, but there's a lot of teams,
they can't all win and only a handful can make the playoffs.

Yeah, but it's funny when owners flip out like this, instead of saying, "we're going to work hard and build for next season".

If this guy is this hot headed, I think the Giants have a road ahead fraught with frustration and further failure. Just look at how Steinbrenner's temper held back the Yankees for all of the 80s. Dude needs to relax. When Steinbrenner finally did, it was only a few years before 1996 happened.

Also, oVo, I don't know if you're really in Antarctica, but if you ever get the chance to listen to New York sports radio, do it. The sports media up here is ridiculously harsh. They demand the impossible, and it's always interesting to see how teams, owners, coaches, or players handle it.

Brett Favre handled it by whining and being a little bitch all the time and talking about how he was worshiped back in Green Bay. Well f*ck that guy, the pansy. I really hope he doesn't get another Superbowl ring. Couldn't cut it on the East coast, so he had to run off to Minnesota.

You're just bitter. Having to go from Pennington who wasn't half bad, to Favre who's Favre, to Sanchez who's horrendous must've been hard. At least you're not Kerry Collins though. He'll never be a starter if he stays in New York.

Best not to talk about that. They have everything ready for a great team (secondary, linebackers, linemen, running backs, receivers and tight ends) except for a quarterback. I really think they should draft one because Orton just isn't good. When the defense knows you're throwing 10 yards or shorter ever pass play, it's just difficult.

My first round picks, if anyone cares :-)

Patriots over the Ravens: Patriots are the best post season team of the decade and with the best coach in the league they are still contenders without Welker. I was at the Raiders/Ravens game yesterday and the Ravens only beat the Jemarcus Russell Raiders by a touchdown. Not very impressive, though it's always fun to watch Ray Lewis hit people in person.

Jets over the Bengals: Jets have won 5 of their last 6 and are the #1 rushing team in the league and also have the leagues best defense. Their one loss was by a field goal to a good Atlanta team. Bengals Have gone 3-3 in their last 6. Their last 3 wins close ones over the Browns, Lions and Chiefs. They haven't beaten a team with a winning record in almost 2 months.

Cowboys over Eagles: Eagles snapped a 7 game win streak by getting blown out by Dallas and losing the division to them. They cannot win in the post season without a healthy Westbrook. Dallas looks like they're ready for the post season but this will be a close one. I am most excited about this one.

Packers over Cardinals: When their offensive line protects Aaron Rodgers the Packers are an elite team and can beat anyone. Many people do not realize how good Aaron Rodgers is. They have won 7 of their last 8. Their one loss was by 1 point to the defending Superbowl Champs. Arizona isn't as impressive as they were last year and the Packers are the best team in the NFC right now. But post season experience helps a lot and Kurt Warner has plenty.

Re: Wild Card Weekend

All these teams are scary and anything can happen, but I sense home field advantage will carry the day.
Saturday
Bengals over the Jets if there is decent weather, otherwise NY's defense will dominate. 24-14
Cowboys three-peat the Eagles, it's Romo time. 34-14

Sunday
Patriots over the Ravens, I just don't see New England making big mistakes like Tennessee did last year and Baltimore just hasn't been the killer defense of previous seasons.
Cardinals squeeze past the Packers in a tight one, as the post season possum wakes up.
Even without Wes Welker the Patriots are just consistent and the only team I consider a legitimate favorite to win.

My full playoff predictions:

AFC
Wild Card Round
# 6 Baltimore vs #3 New England
  • pick Baltimore to win with Rice in New England, Brady is not the same Brady, and Moss and Welker status doesn't make me think the Pats can advance past week 1
# 5 New York Jets vs #4 Cincinnati
  • I believe this will be the only game that wont be effected with the resting the starters last week dilemma. Jets at their strongest are rushing, and I think Cincy will stop them and they are well balanced on both sides of the ball to win this game
Divisional Round
# 6 Baltimore vs #1 Indianapolis
  • Indy gets the lowest ranked team that advances and in my picture its Baltimore which excites San Diego fans who don't want to see the Patriots in this week, This should be a good game, but Peyton will have the offense ready to take the Ravens down and advance to the Conference Championship
#4 Cincinnati vs San Diego
  • Cincy is my dark horse, San Diego has looked really good this year, and its hard for me not to put them going all the way but I think Cincy strolls into town here and gets the job done, side note game prediction to be won by 3 points
Divisional Championship
#4 Cincinnati vs #1 Indianapolis
  • Once again going with my dark horse here, and putting Cincy in the Super Bowl. I think the rushing attack of Benson will be too much for Indy to handle as Cincy manages the clock and keeps Peyton off the field enough to win the game
NFC
Wild Card Round
#6 Philadelphia vs #3 Dallas
  • Going with Dallas here with the thoughts that playing at home with Romo having the best December of his career and the psychological effects of last weeks domination on Philly's mind will be good enough to stop the Eagles big play capability, which is all you need to eliminate to beat Philly
P.S. Vick gets trade to the Bills or the Panthers next year
#4 Green Bay vs #5 Arizona
  • The effects of taking last week off will hurt the Cards here as Rodgers leads the Packers to the divisional round, dome game with no outside elements will result in a great offensive day for Rodgers and Grant
Divisional Round
#4 Green Bay vs #1 New Orleans
  • New Orleans has been looking sluggish as of late while the Packers corners and safeties have been locking down the opposing passing game. I expect a healthy dose of Grant in this game to expose the Saints weakness as well as heavy pressure on Brees. Side note Brees throws at least 2 picks this game
#3 Dallas vs #2 Minnesota
  • Dallas's passing offense will give the Vikings hell this week unless Jared Allen can consistently get pressure on Romo, look for Minnesota to spice up blitz packages and take Austin out of the boys productivity all together. Barber isn't the Barber he was when Julius Jones was the Number 1 and I don't see the rushing attack from Dallas being effective in this game, Brett commands the Vikings past Dallas at home
Divisional Championship
#4 Green Bay vs #2 Minnesota
  • The road to the Super Bowl in the NFC goes through the domes. Minnesota comes out on top although the Pack make a statement game of it and make it close. Favre is playing very smart ball and AP, Shiancoe, Harvin, Taylor and Rice are just too much to defend as Brett spreads it out to whoever is open
Super Bowl
#4 Cincinnati vs #2 Minnesota
  • Its the underdog in me I guess, I cant really believe I would pick this but I think Marv Lewis will have his team prepared extremely well for this game and Ocho will be incredible

King Sam, it's called the Conference Championship not divisional. And the Bengals, your choice to win the AFC is about to lose to the Jets.

IN FACT, YOU ALL CHOSE THE BENGALS OVER THE JETS!!! BUT I KNEW BETTER. i AM BETTER THAN YOU ALL!! HA! :P
