In the context of referring to a person or group of people, rather than an action (i.e. "nipping something in the bud"), yes it is.

I read the game chat and checked another game. Mitsuko has behaved like a jerk that posted some very offensive and rude comments. Simply put, he got flamed back. It would be uncanny to warn Handsomewhitecat for this as he's clearly just given back in kind. (And to that comes that "nip" isn't really particularly offensive and the fact that it's merely retaliatory, not like Handsomewhitecat has stalked Mitsuko or made repeated posts out of the blue.)

Isn't Nip just short for Nipponese, meaning someone who originates from Nippon, which is the native Japanese name for Japan?
I know it's used in an slang, left handed way, but I don't think it has any more connotation than Yanky or Limey....I could think of many worse slurs for this ethnic group...

I agree and that's what I understood a "Nip" to be too. It doesn't seem any worse than being called a "Jap" and I've never seen anyone being shocked/offended by that. I don't mind being called a "Brit", but every man to his own I guess.

After further review and collaboration we have decided to Warn Handsomewhitecat for his language in this game, while the definition of the word may refer to an ethnicity the context of the way the word was used was in a derogatory sense and therefor is a violation.
