Pardon ...what?

Rocket?
I think she was trying to say "Just because I asked you to stop trolling, it doesn't mean that others weren't trolling aswell." but it came out a bit funny.

Oh and clapper, it looks a bit weird when you capitalize the first letter of some sentences but not others. Just letting you know.

What? Really? Okay, maybe you should skip the book of jokes and go straight for a dose of Thorazine.

Well, before that, go outside dude. Get some sunlight. Breathe the fresh air deeply. If that doesn't work, maybe then the Thorazine.

This thread is simply about the Guesting of hahaha3hahaha and if peeps believe it was just. Not about me or colton or who can get the most off topic.

But keep baiting me and posting off topic spam if it makes ya feel good about yourself.

Have a nice day.

Both the thread and the banning seemed a little unnecessary, though the lock was in order because MeDeFe said what was and wasn't acceptable and nothing more could've been added to the conversation.

And I don't really care yet about ha^3 being freed because he really played with fire and none of it was funny or interesting.

Actually it's a buddhist symbol, symbolizing good fortune, but only when it's counter-clockwise. The clockwise version is called savastika, and has opposite meaning.

According to wikipedia:

Swastika also in Jainism as symbol of 7th saint, Chinese perhaps ancient symbol of sun, sun in pre-christian slav/russian culture, holy symbol for some native indians in americas, and roots in nazism come from discovered usage in ancient troy that associated it with "Aryan race", and "good luck" in early 20th century.

Some forum sites ban certain specific subjects because they are believed to lead to endless bickering/flaming, eg giantitp.com bans mentioning real world religion or politics. Others such as related erfworld.com feel that hurts free speech and only ban specific flames.

Quote from haha's thread...

"For example; modern day Neo-Nazis; are they still known as pure anti-semitists? NO. Maybe there are still groups existing today that carry on that line, but what about the ones that fight against things like prostitution and homosexuality- I think those are very fair causes."

It wasn't just a reasoned discussion about using the swastika as a symbol....

hahaha3hahaha had a point though he crossed the line by stating that disliking homosexuals is a bad thing. The swastika was a symbol long before the nazi's adopted it. His way of making his argument wasn't quite as measured as it could have been.

The swastika is a much older symbol than most people believe. While the Nazis used it as a sign of their own, they corrupted the core of it.Almost all cultures on earth have used it for some sign of good luck, or some even as a symbol of the gods.In my own beliefs it is a sign of good fortune. The way you can tell if someone is using it for Racist purposes is the colors theyve used on it.Generally the Red and Black ones are racist while almost every other one is a sign of a faith/culture.

It's not Microsoft just putting things into their software to make people happy, it's much more universal than that.

Depending on the font your using, you should be able to make every single one of those (hold alt, type in the number [say, 667, you press 6 twice, then 7] on the num-pad, then release alt).

Anyway, it seems excessive. Quite simply, even if he's a dick, he shouldn't be banned for asking a question. Though, on the same token we should also be allowed to publicly criticize the mods but we can't do that either now, can we?

I hate to see a fellow troll fall but I saw that thread yesterday and you couldn't have paid me enough money to link my name with it. I suspect he misjudged his audience a tad...which can happen to us all.

I respect Medefe for the quick and confident locking of the thread...I think he actually showed mercy on hahaha3hahaha to lock it so fast, it would have got a lot worse for him once people saw it.

Should he have been banned? That I'm not so sure of. A friendly warning would have been better as I can't really see what rule he broke, apart from his thread being extremely distasteful. But is that worth a ban?

Still, suck it up and move on. Every once in a while every poster writes something they look back on and wince at. Our odd misjudgements give life some much needed colour.

it was a good ban. Haha made a stupid post. It's seems glaringly obvious when someone writes something to see if they will get banned for it.

I'd say that the topic was over the line, but that the ban was a bit excessive. There already have been cries about supposed "censorship" and the quashing of dissent. While the locking of the thread was entirely justified, I feel the immediate banning was not justified. While I have not personally read every post of his, I do believe he has contributed positively to several discussions, and that he was not chronically a troublemaker. A strongly worded warning would have been my idea of fair punishment.

I'd love to, seeing that it was a real patronizing message that pissed me off, but seeing that my MSN account was inactive for 270 days, after I read the message they (MSN) deleted ir for some reason and I cannot get ahold of it.

Here's the message for the people who asked:

"Congratulations on your first forum ban. It's a 24 hour special offer of absolutely no posting in the fora nor reading or sending private messages. You won this fine prize because you trolled in General Discussion.

viewtopic.php?p=2380214#p2380214

There's an explanation of the reasons there that you can read and think about.

From medefe"

Ha!Now you've really entered the game. The stakes only get higher, the messages more patronising and the paranoia ever more real... "I'm not paranoid you know, they really are out to get me!"

You should count yourself lucky...all my bans were related to going off-topic (I think I've had 3 or 4) and considering about 50% of my posts are off-topic this certainly cramped my style for a while. Of course I continue to go off-topic and always have that nagging fear/sense of excitement that each post may find me on the sharp end of a banstick.

As I said, the game is now afoot. The question is, how long can you survive? Many a troll has fallen in these fora you know...

Is anyone in here for or against that ban, actually arguing that that was not full fledged trolling in the exact definition of the word trolling?

Really.

Hey, have your fun, but break the rules and do your time. Its such a simple concept.

=D> for a perfectly warranted ban. It was not only trolling, but was trolling with homophobic, and racist undertones to say the least. The intent was perfectly obvious for anyone that read it.

And if I had to guess, it was the part about the homosexuals that you tried to sneak in that gave them an easy opportunity.
Anyone posting that and not expecting a ban has no reading comprehension skills whatsoever, or...has never been on this forum before.

Oh, and for anyone who just doesnt get it, unless the situation is not clear..

Make a trolling thread about swatstikas, killing jews, hating homosexuals...and you will probably be banned....

Hope that helps.
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk
