Manga are comics. You can't really compare them to cartoons. I think what you're refering to is anime, in which case I kinda agree... There are some great animes though, like Akira, NGE, ... uh... well there are some besides those... not many...modern manga etc. yuk..

Besides that, I really liked Tom and Jerry and Wile E. Coyote vs. Road Runner. There's something about the wacky chase with minimal dialogue that I love.
