Ohio State was the first team to post a 14-0 record, which was matched
by Boise State yesterday and will be equaled by tomorrow night's winner.

I do recognize that; I'm actually a Michigan fan. I'm just being self-deprecating. You really can't blame them for the Big-10's relatively dismal bowl record of late.

I was so fucking stoked when they beat Florida. SEC my ass.

LOL... actually the past two seasons you can as they've been total crap,
but I really feel if given the chance Rodrigues will right the ship and
they'll be back.

Although there's a chance Terrell Pryor will kick your ass twice more
and the alumni may want Coach Rod's head on a piatter.

Considering Stanzi's interception at the end of the 1st Quarter gave Tech their only points
of the first half, I think he shook that off and came through when they needed him most.
Interception by Jerrard Tarrant, returned 40 yards for a Georgia Tech touchdown.

That's how Stanzi played all year until he got injured. He threw 3 ints in the 3rd quarter against Indiana, came back with 2 TD passes in the first 3 minutes of the 4th to take the lead. He's learned well from Kirk Ferentz, who seems to be the most patient coach in college football. I think Iowa will be a top contender again next year. They've shown that some of their freshman are worthy of leading the future of the Hawkeye Nation. With Adrain Claiborne returning for one more year, that gives them the defensive leader to keep his teammates in the game and in control.

P.S. I posted only one thing in the statistics about Bama and that was the record vs Texas in games and the 2 pics just to stir up the pot for tomorrow night, the rest was geared towards your statement as the team of the decade which Bama wasn't even an option in. Of course I agree stats don't mean crap when it comes to Thursday night, its the 2 teams now that are on the field and anything they did to get to that game will come into play because its what got them there but I don't think you can look at games past and say either one of these teams have it locked up because of it.

It should be a good game, as I said my purposes of that last post was to get Texas the respect that I don't feel their getting from analysts and such and to throw it in there for your decade comment.

Any other bartering back and forth is just to make the game even more enjoyable, plus I live in Florida I get the whole "Bama is going to dominant you thing daily", my defense is to turn it and throw it back to keep it interesting. SEC is a great conference that is breeding great teams, I wouldn't want my team playing anyone else in the championship this year.

KS

Well, I'm still undecided about who is the team of the decade. Texas has the most impressive regular season stats but unlike Florida and LSU they only have 1 championship. WHile Florida does have 2 championships, as a Georgia fan I just can't give it to them...Plus LSU also has 2 championships and has played more consistently at a high level during this past decade. I don't think I can give it to USC becuase they only have 1 championship and I feel their overall stats are lesser than Texas's. Meanwhile Boise State has won no championships but at the same time they have I beleive the second highest amount of wins this decade behind Texas and have not been given the chance to prove themsleves in the national championship, so with thir extra buzz as a Non-BCS team I don't feel it's fair to eliminate them on the grounds that they have not won any national championships.

If texas wins the NC tomorrow nigth than I think they are the indisputable team of the decade. if not...it's still between Texas, LSU, and Boise and I will provably research more stats before making a decision.

Boise's a very good team and should finish as the #3 team for going 14-0. However I'd bet money that Florida, Alabama and Texas could beat them.

Probably helps that Michigan wasn't involved.

They didn't fire Roddy either did they? You'll probably get lucky and he'll lead them into another losing season.

Actually yeah it would. Unfortunately, the pricks at the BCS won't accept a playoff system.

I think the word BCS offends everyone, however we have to deal with it. Anyways who do you think will win tomorrow and who are you actually rooting for?

I want Texas, but feel Alabama will crush them by 3 touchdowns.

It won't be that bad but I do want and hope that Bama wins. Georgia fan and any SEC team that crushes Florida's hopes and dreams is a friend in my book.

I should think so, especially with the Fiesta Bowl. Both were great teams, but both were also non-AQ, and the BCS pitted them together so as not to suffer another embarrassment , like Utah did to Bama last year.

The non-AQs really have to go out and prove something, especially the MWC and Boise (hopefully they will be synonymous in a few years), and Wyoming is taking the brunt of it next year.

Typically though, your recruits won't help next year - perhaps the year after.

Toledo seems to swing wildly in their performance - you never know who's showing up.

They were talking on the radio before the Orange Bowl about Missouri being a candidate for the Big-10 in the future.

They have been for years. And Colorado for the Pac Ten. But neither will ever happen, because both the Big Televen and Pac Ten hold their academics so that they're looking down their nose at mostly everyone else...and Missouri/Colorado academics just aren't THAT strong.

The best fit for the Big Televen really IS Notre Dame, but Notre Dame does to them what they do to everyone else. <grin>

If they prove to be what DC is looking for and can play at the level, then I have a feeling they will play (we had something like a dozen true Freshmen play starting positions this year)

Thanks, so it might either be a good team, or a bad one. So I'll say. 50/50 on this one.

Nope, Wyoming-CSU Border War is the oldest West of the Missouri, and one of the oldest West of the Mississippi. :P Also, it is one of the more balanced rivalries, and since the inception of the Bronze Boot, both teams are dead even with 21 wins a piece.

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!
I'm hoping the Rose Bowl in Pasadena continues to be good to the Longhorns.
First it was Vince Young's emergence against Michigan, then USC in Reggie Bush's Heisman Year
and now it's Colt McCoy's turn with Alabama in Mark Ingram's Heisman Award season.

With Colt McCoy knocked out on the very first series of the game
it's looking like a long night for the horns.
