I'm always aware when bees are around me. Honey bees, i don't mind so much. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone. And also, knowing they basically only have one sting in them. But, wasp, yellow jackets, hornets..they always seem like they just want to attack..if one comes near me, I'm ducking, bobbing and weaving, flailing my arms like a little girl. If i am caught in a confined area, if it's in a room with me, i stop what I'm doing until i have destroyed it. I have not been stung for quite some time now, and i want to keep it that way. I definitely remember the feeling of being stung, and looking down to see this bee kinda balled up, just giving it everything they got.

What i hate more than these, are horseflies, and deerflies. Oh my gosh, are they blood thirsty. And relentless. You can't out run them. They will follow you, swarms of them. I don't know what i hate more, being bitten by them, or having them swarming around my head. I know that horseflies are common in many places. Deer Flies are in taiga regions, like the northern USA, and Canada. They make me absolutely insane. Certain times of the year, you just can't go near the woods, or you will be swarmed. If you try to run and get them off you, it only attracts more of them. They have no interest in leaving you alone. They seek you out. They are like mosquitoes on steroids. And the bite, is equal to the pain of a bee sting. They also leave a nice welt on you. I truly despise them, with every fiber of my being.

I'm just surprised by how much detail people have gone into something like bees on the fora of CC, and still are.

Is there anything else? Does someone have some uplifting story about how he/she raided a beehive completely naked and covered in honey because he/she lost a bet?

Alright.

Didn't want to ramble, but since Stalin insists.

Naked Beekeeping

Scene #1: Two drunken beekeepers sitting on the porch drinking beer and nipping shine, avoiding work on an August afternoon. Both braggin to each other how imune to venom, how light a touch they have in manipulating frames, how fast they can spot a queen, Ect, Ect ect.

Scene#2: Since agreeing to disagree isn't working, both guys decide to disassemble a colony, find the queen, mark her with a marking pen, and put the colony back to rights.

Scene#3: Since who can do this the fastest isn't enough, to degrades to the following:

BKeepr#1: "I'll do it without a smoker"
Bkpeer#2: "I'll do it without a smoker, with no suit, just a veil"

Bkeepr#1: "Veils are for women. I'll do it with no suit, no veil, no gloves."
Bkeepr#2: "Gloves are for rookies. No suit, no nothing, just in shorts and a t-shirt."

Bkeepr#1: "I'll do it naked."
Bkeepr#2: "Yer fucking crazy"

Yes I am. Did it in 13 min. Yes there is a picture, No you can't see it. My wife hid it and won't tell me where. I'm sure it will be slipped into a power point presentation somewhere down the line when I do a pollination lecture for some horticultural society as a practical joke.

Yes I got stung. But only 4 times and no, not on the dick. 2 in the face, 2 in the back.

Stay away from shine. Far Away.
