This one is tough. Most of them are for deadbeats which actually seems fair. I see he's played quite a few multis like angry and manimal. It seems like most of his opponents are ?'s who tend to not play their turns because of the games he starts and his rank. You will probably need to be more specific because of the deadbeat factor to get a warning for this one.

Well jp. I did investigate some of the names I know and some of rank. I took a CLOSER look and this sure seems to be an abuse as previous rulings have held as an abuse.

this is a tougher one than one might think on looking at it... clearly its ridiculous...but really its just a lack of good ratings for the most part. Nearly every one of the bad ones went to poorly rated players already...with the one exception of ramateur...who did question jinx in a game....for cheating...*cough*again*cough*

Really though, hes entitled to leave a lot of those ratings. Im pretty sure my ratings page would look the same, if you erased the few thousand good ones....and theres really nothing saying you have to leave good ones.

I honestly looked through at the ones that might not be justified...but each player had confronted him in some way. I didnt check the ones with 4.5 ratings and below...because honestly...its just safe enough to assume there was something said.

someones gonna have to actually find a rating in a game without plausible reason I think to call it abuse. right now its just complete selectivity and ridiculously unsportsmanlike...but that isnt all that surprising at this point

I actually applaud JP for not jumping on this one as it looks cut and dry...but I agree...hes more guilty of not leaving positive ratings....not abusing negative ones

dont know ,seems like if somebody did not do something he liked he tagged them with a bad rating .i can see him leaving them with 1 for bad play etc but he ones them all the way.He also played several games with several of the same people and did not seem to have any issues with them in the other game.It seems like he rating them on one game that did not go way.Kind of seem like a bit of a sore loser.I don't know but to me it seems like rating abuse.

nope, if leaving ones is abuse, simply because there are a lot of them...but there is at least a possible reason...then you might as well throw away the ratings...every person he rated ones, did something that could justify a bad rating. If you say it doesnt warrant a one, then you essentially are saying you want to auto mate the ratings, which defeats the whole purpose.

Only those leaving ones for nothing are abusing the system. Everyone else is simply using their definition of poor and excellent. If you mess with that too much, the ratings are gone...and while not perfect, they really are the best way to keep track of people.

You can not define someone else's opinion of someone else. Im giving you a 1 for thinking its your right to tell me what I think of someone else. Its a completely subjective and selective system based on other peoples opinion of other players.

You are completely entitled to your opinion of my attitude. But id prefer a 2 over telling someone else that their opinion is wrong, because that is just well...ridiculous.

Also, you get a 1 for research. You were asked to give one example where the rating was possibly unjustified, and you have not given one concrete example of where jinx rates someone with a 1 for no cause whatsoever. Your only evidence, is that he doesnt give positive ratings....but giving positive ratings is not abuse...it abstinence. Abuse, is giving ratings when they are not deserved, and you do not have the ability to know if mr jinx thinks someone is a poor player or not, even if you think you do.

I saw that thread...That does not mean I have to agree with it....or that it was correct....or that it directly pertains to this thread.

Again...show one example where you actually see a rating that is unjustified here. You seem to be avoiding that for some reason. Either lazy..or the fact that you already know you wont find one case where the person could not have been given a one rating...which would constitute abuse

In the 5 rating case, there were many examples where players didnt even show up, and got 5 stars...and that as I recall was a big part of the abuse claim.

hes not a moron at all. he simply isnt looking at both sides on this particular issue in my opinion. Players like him have to step up and post abuses when they see them, its how cheaters and abusers are stopped. That does not however mean everyone has to agree at all times.

You on the other hand simply dont know what your talking about, and have made it personal with no insight whatsoever.

i just am really tired of trying to talk anysense to ou guys....this has gone from a risk site and forum to chat in to a site full of people consumed with their own importance and wittiness of their posts that they use to try and make themselves look cute and smart...after all is said and done this website is degenerating quickly into a massive accusation forum. my prediction...this website will be dead in a year or so...i mean all the fun is going out of it...you gotta almost send anything you post or do to a lawyer first before posting it so that you dont get accused of something...in my case...i just post what i want...which makes some people mad...

It looks like abuse...it really might not be... its more an absence of good ratings....everyone I checked had a legitimate reason for giving ones....theoretically...and believe me...I wasnt looking to clear him....i thought it would be obvious very quickly the people didnt deserve the ratings....I couldnt find one where it couldnt be considered possibly deserved. I didnt check all of them...just the ones I suspected would be bogus.

If he rated others positively....which you arent forced to do...then every one of these would be justified in their own right...so Im not sure it can be abuse...unless they are given for no reason....otherwise abuse just comes down to proportions of good to bad, which doesnt really make a lot of sense.

You like to throw that back as an argument but you fail to realize that whether you agree with it or not rating only 5 stars is just as much abuse as rating only 1 stars.

And there were many times that people were rated 5 stars in that history of ratings that were bogus. Out of the possible 1104 categories to rate in there were 692 5 stars and nothing else. looking just through 10 of the games on any page that one of the users got 5 stars on would lead you to question if that user was using the system correctly or just rating that way to rate. Rating only this way runs into a lot of problems for the sanctity of the system, skews the overall picture of a player and the player that is rating that way. If you go into a game knowing or having being told that you will receive a 5 star from them then your more likely to leave the same in return, thus unjustly granting an overall grand experience with this player when none existed at all. Same as what went about with propositioning, fishing & bargaining for a good feedback when that was around.

As said around the halls in here its common to see people rate higher then normal, and that's not discouraged nor is it punished unless its obvious abuse like it was in that case and that case alone. Rating only this way is an extreme and if it is looked at and a vast number of those left are questionable
(leaving 5 stars across the board for a player that deadbeated is an example of questionable) then you will be found guilty and be punished according to the rating violation structure.

The same goes for the other extreme, rating only poorly is also an abuse. It skews the system even more so then that of a person that leaves only 5 stars. The Foe function is at your disposal to use if you come across a player that you did not have an enjoyable experience with, as well as Ratings. When you only use the Ratings system for bad players like you would use for the Foe system then you in turn are skewing the picture of the type of players you play and welcoming a before the fact retaliatory rating on yourself. If your ratings that you leave look like MrJinx's here then you will be reported and your every rating that you left will be scrutinized.

Its fairly obvious this guy like Thornheart only rates or mainly rates the players he has had a bad experience with, and just like Thorny he has several ratings/tags in their that are inappropriate. There in there you just have to look. Several deadbeats that are false, and almost every time he loses to someone who isn't a "deadbeat" he associates them with tags like "Clueless, poor strategy, SD" even when no chat took place to say this was his thought. Seeing as those types of tags are obviously opinionated the thought behind leaving them is that you cant really prove that its not factual. But when you do it for almost everyone then its a hard pill for us to swallow.

MrJinx will be Warned for Rating Abuse.

Gentlemen & Ladies, i get it, down with the mods, but seriously you guys with this "lets see who we can report next for ratings abuse to see where the rules really stand" are hurting the true modding that could be going on around here. Every other post lately has been a ratings one, and I refuse to believe that you are really that wrapped around the axle on this matter. I have now wasted 90 minutes backing up my evidence on this guy to conclude what looks like obvious abuse just cause this trendy topic of ratings abuse will get scrutinized to the ends of the earth. In that time I could have easily investigated 2 or 3 cases of a suspected multiple account or secret diplomacy case. So you can continue to report matters like this or you can choose to not be "popular" and take the higher road and let us do the job of protecting all of you from the real cheaters out there.

By all means you come across a cut and dry abuse of ratings then report it. Cut and Dry being:

• a user that is using the system for vindictive means
  rating inaccurately for a vast majority of other users
  utilizing tags that mostly are never appropriate

But if you get a rating that you feel is undeserved try to work it out with the other guy, leave a response about the feedback you received but don't come crying in here, or barking up some other users tree to prove a point or be trendy. Or do and let the real cheaters continue to manipulate the system.

Ratings are Ratings, their someone elses opinion on how you conducted yourself in a game, are they really that big of a deal that we should have more then 2 abuse cases in C&A at any one time? My answer which I would assume is the obvious one is No.
