Forgive me for my late additions to this thread - I had glanced at the map previously, and it has come a long way. I know the last minute feedback can be frustrating so feel free to tell me to shove it - however I'd still like to state my opinion.

It seems to me that some of the bridges you've used are complete nonsense. Any advanced community would want to connect their individual islands with bridges, but you instead have bridges across harbors and lakes - obstacles that are easy to go around on land. Now I understand that you don't wish to connect all the islands with bridges and that is okay for gameplay reasons, but where possible I would prefer to see the erroneous bridges removed.

The most notable example is the Hesiod-Acacius connection. Those territories look as if they are already connected by land, so there is no gameplay purpose for that bridge. And for a supposed advanced culture, I will reiterate that the bridge is nonsense and never would have been constructed. If they wanted a bride across the harbor it would at least be at the furthest out point where the strait is narrow and the distance between the points over land is further. Anyway, these territories are already connected so the bridge can easily be removed.

Same idea withe the Sapho-Nikon connection, except those territories do not currently connect without the bridge. I know you'd have to redraw the lines to make the connection work so I'm willing to suspend my disbelief and presume that the bridge was somehow worthwhile to construct, like the Xi-Timon bridge must have been.

Finally, the Aeetes-Alexis connection is very unclear. There is a dis-contiguous portion of land that must below to Aeetes, but it is small and hard to recognize (especially on the small map where its virtually impossible to see because of the army circle). I would suggest eliminating the little inlet at the South end of Aeetes to make the connection to Alexis clearer, or re-routing the Pelagia border to the right (but that would probably take a bit more effort and isn't necessary).

There is a similar issue with the Demon-Melchetium connection, but the dis-contiguous piece of land is larger and therefore easier to spot. Just the same I don't like the way you have inlets separating territories into multiple parts - it doesn't seem to serve any purpose but makes the connection more confusing.

My apologies once again for not voicing these concerns earlier. The map is looking very nice, and I hope you at least consider what I've said above.

I would like to point out that this is a map that has passed through all the gates of the forge so far and all / most of these points have been addressed in some manner (or are likely the result of some other input ) in previous posts.

This bridge exists Solely to clarify the Hesiod-Acacius as there were some comments at some time (either on here or personally by Prem), that the connection was not as clear as it could be in the small map. after much fiddling with borders the bridge was added as the best solution

Advanced culture or not some 'Nonense' has to be accepted to allow for graphical issues once in a while and an artistic license overides the plausibility of any mythical lost continent

I agree it should and was over the narrowest point but for clarity was rotated slightly to allow the accacius name to actually be attached to it's territory and correctly oriented

This bridge prevents a bottle neck and or a territ having only a single border, I believe this bridge was added for that reason specifically and was commented somewhere as being an acceptable solution

Glad your beilief is the sort that can be suspended , because sometimes it is neccessary to set one's mind free of belief and accept on faith and faith alone. Change the things you can and sod the little stuff you can't, or sommat like that

On this point I have to wholly disagree with you, I think each connection is clear enough to be acceptable and up to now have recieved no complaints, I'm going with me and the silent majority for now.

I am in agreement Nem. I think we have the graphics nailed down and the stamp to go with it and I'm reluctant to open the can of worms with the bridges again.

After reading through your post again, I can however see your point Sully. But I think these are just cosmetic changes that aren't going to add any gameplay value to the map whether they stay or go. I think we'll leave them be.
We do appreciate your comments, we are ALWAYS open to suggestions and criticisms, and will talk over any changes together first before we reject/accept a suggestion. To echo Nem's words, we've never told anyone to shove it, , and we won't start now.

I'm afraid I can't let the Aeetes-Alexis connection go however. On the large map it might be okay but on the small map you really cannot see the Pelagia border because it coincides with the edge of the Army circle. It would be much better to eliminate that little inlet, because I guarantee you people are going to miss that connection.

And at the risk of being too argumentative, the fact that no one else has mentioned it is not a valid argument - especially since I'm discussing a detail that I think players will miss.

EDIT: Actually I just checked the XML and Aeetes-Alexis don't connect. Can you review my earlier comments? What is this little piece of land if it is not a part of Aeetes? And if they are supposed to be connected as you indicated before, then my point has been proven

Your right they are indeed not connected I will get on and tweak the map
While I'm in there I will also look at the hesiod, accacius and Draco borders and try to move the bridge to the Narrow point of the bay (unless it causes too much disruption)

I have also now looked very closely at the Melchetium border,bay and land mass, I think i can rectify that point too.

Will get the maps to prem for XML checks when I'm done and then get them posted.

I'm glad to see you fellows sorting this out. When I first saw sully's post, I thought, "Oh, jeez, kinda late, eh?". Then I read it through and thought, mostly, "Crap, he's right, that should be fixed." Those places where tiny bits of land confuse the border question do need to be fixed. But I don't agree with his statement,

If that were the case there would be no Burlington Bay James N Allan Skyway or, picking one more globally known, Golden Gate Bridge.

If I were travelling from Xi to Timon, I would much rather drive that gorgeous bridge than take that long trip through Dia or Ixion and Zoe. You need to keep your windows up and your doors locked in those areas.

If you do decide to fiddle with the Hesiod-Acacius bridge, it might be best in fact to narrow the mouth of the harbour, put the bridge there and move the labels below on each end of the bridge. You could leave Draco alone or give it a clear piece of waterfront without affecting gameplay. I speak from the position of one who has no idea how much work changing the outline of the map would be at this point, so take my comments for what they're worth.

I have Nems maps but unfortunately they are on work email and for some annoying reason my VPN connection isn't working so I'll have to post them up tomorrow when I can access email directly from work. There shouldn't be any changes needed to be made to the XML as from what Nem's said it seems to be cosmetic changes only. But will double check to be sure.

We always look at changes people suggest to see if they need to be made no matter how late to the party. This is a change that needed to be made so we'll gladly do it. Well spotted Sully!

If you could post the link to the latest XML (with the adjusted coords) then I'll take a final look at it and sort out the XML stamp.

I've had a scan of territory borders, and I think the Sapho-Omrikon link is likely to be missed by people, and that it might be worth removing some of the coastal inlet to be level with the a/p of the terr name.

The only other thing I would request is that the channel between Kallias and Omrikon is made a couple of pixels wider to help emphasise that there is no connection there.

If you could make the territory border lines on Thule a shade darker, that would be lovely too; but that's a minor niggle.

All in all, it looks pretty much like job done - just sort out those things above, and we'll see if this floats

An alternative way to make this clear would be to move the eastern border of Samuelon west, which would lengthen that Sapho-Omrikon border. I don't know which method would be simpler for NemesisChild.

The only other thing I would request is that the channel between Kallias and Omrikon is made a couple of pixels wider to help emphasise that there is no connection there.

I have to agree with this one too. The border line between Omrikon and Isadora almost appears to cross the water to Kallias.

Prem Is kind of busy at the moment so i am posting here with the tweaks done as requested on the map. I will ask him to update the First post as soon as he is able too.

• - attempted to darken borders on Thule , not much success as it made them stand out too much
  - Widened the channel between Kallias and Omrikon as much as I dare too
  - went with ender516 and moved the border line between Omrikon and Isadora to make it clearer
  - Also Moved border line between Draco and Agyros for the same reason
  - general tidy up of some borders where they were blurry or overshot the coastlines
  - Dropped the Saphos Peninsula back as reccomended by MrBenn
  - Moved the Army circle for Ixion as it was overlapping border on small map - Sorry Prem
  - fixed a font sizing issue on small map, that had slipped through on last version
  - fixed a bluring & Color issue on coast line of Demon
