The games settings will be as follow:
2 players double, sun, escalating spoils and reinforcement chained (75% of the games)
8 players doubles, fog, escalating spoils and reinforcement chained (25% of the games)
Please note that 3-4 new games will be started every week. Please do not join unless you want to commit to this game load. The tournament is likely to last several months and will start as soon we have the 24 teams.
We will start with 24 teams. 8 teams will be eliminated after the first round (16 games per team for the first round) and 8 other after the second round (16 games per team for the second round). The third round with 8 teams will be the final one (18 games per teams for the final round). Each round is likely to last 2 months.
Entry Requirements and Sign-up procedures:
1. 5000+ points for the team.
2. I can deny or allow entrance to particular teams at my own discretion.
3. To sign up post your team members here. Your partner must confirm the participation by posting here too within 24 hours.
4. Premium membership is required for the whole duration of the tournament.
5. Once you are signed up, you don't have to maintain 5000+ rating.
ROUND 1
The 24 teams will be divided in 6 groups of 4 teams. For the first round we will take 4 maps for the 4 players games (two teams) and 4 maps for the 8 players games (four teams). Within each group, each team will play against the three remaining teams on 4 maps (12 four players double games) and there will four 8 players games with the 4 teams of the group.
Victory gives +1 point in the two teams games and gives +3 points in the four teams games. In the double 8 players games the three losing teams do not score. Any form of alliance is forbidden as well as revealing position or information regarding opponents. You also have to join all games within 24 hours. I’ll give penalties or exclude guilty teams. If a game is not finished by round 20, -1 point for survival teams.
Every week we will start two 4 players double and one 8 players double.
After round 1, the bottom 8 teams (not necessarily the last one in each group) will be eliminated. In case two teams have the same number of points, the last one in joining the tournament will be out.
ROUND 2
In round 2, we will have 16 remaining teams, placed in 4 groups of 4 teams. Same rules apply than in round 1 but but victory gives +2points in 4 players double and +6points in 8 players double. After round 2, the bottom 8 teams are eliminated.
FINAL ROUND
The last 8 teams will play against each other on 2 different maps (14 double games for each team, +3 points for the win) and will play four 8 players games (+9 points for the winner of each 8 players game). In the unlikey case that the first teams get the same number of points at the end of round 3, there will be a tie breaker with maps 1, 2, 3, 4 and 9.[/spoiler]
