What's similar between a Brit and the s*** I just took in the bathroom?

They'll never brush their teeth.

Damn I don't know England to participate in this thread....

Football is great in England
..But they don't have good orthodontists
But their rock bands are better..

So I guess the UK wins.

Anyway- JefJef sadly, and a little oddly, departed: another top ten reasons why the UK is better than the US:

10) We have a sense of humour. The US has to be satisfied with something less- "a sense of humor"
9) Scots, Welsh, Irish, English- someday American English will perhaps gain the same status as one of the languages spoken in the British Isles.
8 ) Irony seems to take at least twelve repetitions to sink into some Americans
7) So let's get real for once- why not include the tax on the price tag? And why are shopkeepers asking for my phone number when I want to buy a sweater? So mad.
6) And back to sarcasm. National sport wise, so far cricket remains mercifully free of steroids, and football doesn't feature too many athletes killing animals for money. We like the British sports.
5) Beer- sorry. If this were the UK vs France or vs Belgium, or Germany, or the Czech Republic, there'd be an issue to argue. UK vs USA. No issue.
4) My British accent does not sound Australian.
3) Ok, it does a bit. A bit...
2) British people have awesome teeth. Americans are famous for their bad teeth. This is due to Americans having no health system.
1) Watch any movie set in the past. English accents? Of course. The language of history.

Though rapping doesn't get much love on this site, you guys have Slick Rick and that's it.

And we're also cooler because we don't spell "colour" like a bunch of friggin' Canadians.

Oh... # 9 is too.

Or are thes supposed to be funny?

Sarcasm out fo context is stupid... just because you "get the joke" in your head doesn't mean it's still funny when you type it in a "let's bash the US thread".

Oh BTW.... we saved your ass in WW2. Though I conceed the Brits did their share.

Also... how can we NOT be arrogant when the rest of the world calls us Americans? Aren't there quite a few other contries on these two continents? Perhaps if the rest of the world calls us "USA-ians" or some such it would lessen our arrogance? Might also help if the rest of the world just stopped calling us in general... I am sure most of us here would prefer it that way.

Why does everybody associate a country with the people of that country? Europeans meet a few stupid Americans and assume America as a whole is stupid. Americans have the most successful country in the world so they assume they are better than Europeans. Europeans become butthurt and flame America as a whole because they want to be equal to the people of America.

America > Europe
Americans = Europeans
Is it that hard to separate the two concepts?

Yes, perhaps... about 50 years ago.

British irony does take a while to sink in, true.

Got no answer at all. World must be about to stop.

Well, Belgium and Germany.. no contest at all, but last time I checked, they were not part of the UK???

US is not the best at brew, its true. However, I'll take even a Samuel Adams or Y'ling Y'ling, never mind a Pale Ale any day.

I have heard another explanation for British teeth, but it is not fit for public consumption.

Just to clarify, numbers 9 and 10 are indeed "supposed to be funny". In number 10, jimboston, you will find me making a statement about crude stereotypes. In number 9, you will find me making the same crude assumptions. This is what we call "a joke".

As for the rest of your post- believe what you want and be happy. If you have enough wit to make jokes of your own, come back and see how they stand up.

Which "great" American is this?

Btw, I would rather our country is more like France then like the USA. Secularism > Religion, Equality > Inequality, Less Bigots > More bigots.

Seeing how American "irony" is about 1mm deep, there's not much to sink in.

Ah, perhaps time for another top ten reasons for the UK's superiority over the US.

10) In the UK you only need a knife proof vest.
9) Our hooligans are bad. Oakland Raiders fans are in a special hooligan league of their own.
8 ) We know our Queen is a bit German, but we love her anyway. Much of your country isn't sure that your president is American,
7) Speaking of the royal family- we have Saint Princess Diana. The once and only princess. She will return in England's hour of darkest need. You have JFK. Good, but let's face it- in a straight street fight, Diana would own him.
6) And don't even start me on Henry VIII. He was awesome. George Washington eat your heart out.
5) I'm going to concede a point here- the US national anthem is less crappy than ours. This is now a top 9.
4) Shakespeare, bitches.
3) Our teeth are free to express themselves.
2) Pick a movie in English- that's an English accent you're hearing. Doesn't matter what language- everyone had a English accent back in the day.
1) 20 plus points in, and nobody can put together a simple, funny, and clever set of points to counter me.

The UK is better, no?

Well, I'm not sure what qwert is saying here, but it's fairly clear that without British forces, the US would never have made it out of Dunkirk.

Perhaps Qwert should read the rest of the thread before he/she seeks to revise it all.

I don't get how this point links in with our marvellous dentistry, but I will have a wee point about it. The war guarentee with Poland was not about helping the Poles, it was about halting German expansion.

Oh, and with the 'if' point. There's the classic quote:
