CC's Top 10 Flame Warriors [Poll Added]

Some of the most persistent flamers from back in the day:

Norse, Suggs, Dancing Mustard, TheProwler, chaosfactor, AnarkistsDream, the_lion

Most of them got their asses banned.

My vote goes to BK BARUNT and JefJef. There's many others too, that made the forums fun and interesting.

Yes, many of the best FLAMERS were banned and that left the forums void of great posters.

Now we have forums that are waterlogged with "colored names" and boring posts.

The forums have become stale and un-original posts have become the norm

We all can thank the "passive aggressive" posters who incited many of us into FLAMING.

None of the flamers that got banned were any good at all. For it is easy to just break all the rules, post whatever you want with some dirty flames, and get banned for life. It takes no more creativity than a baby crying repeatedly till he gets fed.

Further, the flamers that simply attack the weak deserve no respect at all. Many have chosen perhaps one person to repeatedly attack over and over, simply because they are gone, or simply lacked the will to enter into a conversation fit only for middle school. Such flaming, especially by an older flamer is equally not flaming, but just bullying, worthy of nothing but pity.

Then there are the flamers that simply cant even control themselves. They simply lose all control of their emotions and usually end up getting banned. No doubt that at times they actually created some funny posts, but in the end they let their emotions get the best of them, and jumped over the line, and ended their streak of creativity, usually because of a loss of control, not a decision.

The lowest form of flamer of course are those that lose control, repeatedly break the rules and then of course blame others for their actions, and the mods for being unfair. They of course aren't really worthy of much since they aren't even willing to accept responsibility for their actions. Perhaps they deserve pity too. That's just a personal choice.

The best flamers are still here. They are the ones that no doubt got warned or banned a few times, but continue to enjoy the forum, continue to enjoy the game, and continue to watch others with lesser creativity try as they might to compete with a superior ability, only to fail...time and time again.

The failings of most flamers have been summed up in the one line: He who loses control, loses.

In any case, flaming is now no longer allowed, which has improved CC immeasurably. Some continue to push the boundaries, others jump right over them without care, and others simply cant control themselves, and their course is as obvious as their angst and anger outside of CC. Now instead of a "youre fat, no you are, no your really fat, no you are" discourse, disagreements now must be handled and carried out in a civilized manner, as one would expect to find an an actual society of people who have graduated from middle school. The forum is no longer just a mudslinging wasteland of simple vulgarity or silly genitalia insults, but a forum of discussions, many of which still include extreme disagreements, but which now are simply held to the a standard of actual civilized communication...not to say it always stays above that bar.

Now of course, disagreement is important, and without it the forum is not a forum, but it is so much better to see people have to rely on their ability to actually communicate an actual opinion on any given subject. Though, it is of course unfortunate that those that were unable to control themselves, pretty much got the entire flame wars forum removed. It was of course a fun little area to joust with some people internationally, but like all things involving children, and those who still act like children, a good thing was ruined, but at least the forum and the game survived, the many bullies controlled or removed as much as possible, and those that simply took personal attacks too far, or pushed the rules too far, to move onto some other forum to relieve their anger, frustration, or possible psychosis elsewhere.

Congrats to CC, for providing the courage to stand up to the bullies and the few vocal dissenters and provide the great majority of the CC community with exactly what it wants, which is a fun game, as safe a forum as possible, and still a very open forum, for you have been the real heroes of CC along with many others who as firefighters ignored the risk to themselves to protect others from the silly negligence of others.

And congrats to the real flame warriors. Those who did not go down in flames, but those who lived to fight another day, and not for the cause of burning other people, but protecting people from being burned, by the silly flames set by children playing with matches.

Of course we have my regular stalker, baiter and obsessive poster who likes to call everyone children, when he doesn't agree with you.

How can someone say sooooooo much, yet say so little. How can anybody repeat things over and over and over again, from paragraph to paragraph to paragraph, with-out putting you to sleep? AND he considers himself educated?

Here we have a fine example of FLAMING, but it's a lighter form of FLAMING and it's called, "PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE TACTICS." Yep, instead of calling you a F*CKING MORON, he'll call you a uncivilized child with no education. Really, what's the difference? Is it because a foul word is used? Is it less hurtful? Hmmmmm.

The forums have become dull, due to creeps who yell FIRE! and make complaints with the help of their clan members.

It's become quite apparent that my stalker friend will never leave me alone and will invite his clan friends to continue to bait, stalk and harrass me. BUT, I guess the Moderators considers his technique as civlized and acceptable. I'm not the only one who feels that he's being stalked and baited by creeps who are borderline psycho.

Yes, the forums have become dull, because we have psychos who are bent and twisted. They'll throw gasoline on a small camp fire and scream FIRE! Then they'll point their crooked finger at someone else and call them an arsonist.

Of course, the Moderators will continue slapping the wrists of the "passive aggressive" stalkers who continue to pour gasoline on fires. But, come down hard of the victims of these passive aggressive psychos, cause we may use uncivilized words that may hurt their feelings.

Flaming or passive aggressive tactics are the same. BUT, we have passive aggressive psychos yelling FIRE! in the forums and they get away with that behavior.

When will these stalkers, baiters and forum arsonists be stopped?

Perhaps, we need to include these passive aggressive attackers in this poll, since FLAMING and PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE TACTICS are the same.

GS, id like to point out that not once in the entirety of his post did he mention you or anyone else's name, so it is in fact you that is baiting/flaming/whatever you'd like to call it. He is stating his opinion on FW, which he has every right to do, and the fact that he posted after you is does not imply it was directed at you. The second half of your post is fine, you can cry "passive aggressive" bullshit arguements all you'd like, as it is just as rightfully an opinion as was Fitz's. But you really need to get over looking for a fight with Fitz, and realize that being one of the most active posters here, there arent a whole lotta places he isnt going to post. When players like ron or DM got a ban for something they said, they didnt come back and cry about their mistreatment; they acted as if nothing happened and continued to entertain the public without crossing the same boundry. FW was here for shock and entertainment value, as very rarely were the flames actually directed for someone's gameplay, which is why i understand why it was taken off the site.

I did forget to mention one other form of flamer. There were also some, maybe many in the day that would actually foe people when they disagreed with a forum post, or if they were made to look foolish, which happened a lot, and then foe them, and then unfoe them, and then foe them again, and then unfoe in a rather silly cycle of futility. They were more or less about the same as the ones that blamed everyone else for in equity and everyone else for their failures, but took it a step further by running away at the first site of being bested. It was quite funny to see really back in the day.

Like many, I actually miss the flame wars at times, except for the vast improvement their removal has meant to the site.
