Now i didnt read all of the messages so i dont know that a number of Americans chose american cities but i imagine a lot of Americans would.
Its both Americas (sterio typically) most endearing quality and frustrating attribute. The fact that so many blindly support their country and its achievments with little real understanding of impact or opposing arguments.

Jihad, the crusades.... For thousands of years control of the city has been contested by the world's major powers. Empires have risen and fallen in pursuit of this city.

It's one of the most sacred sites for all three of the worlds great monotheistic religions (almost half the world's population) and even today the fate of Jerusalem will profoundly affect the world..

The city could very well be the fuse which ignites the world's next great war.

Surely Stalingrad is #1 for Russia cities. WWII has been way more important to the world then the rise of communism (although they are heavily interlinked).

What I'm going for is the way the world completely changed as Russia and the United States entered the Cold War, with the threat of Nuclear Winter looming overhead. I can't think of another period in history when two countries hated each other so much, but didn't do anything about it. The whole worldwide political landscape after Nagasaki changed, and not just because of the war itself. But anyway, I was just throwing it out there. Still, Hiroshima imo is more important than Kyoto/Tokyo as far as global importance goes. It's difficult to nominate an Asian City if only because of the Huns and Japan's isolationism.

I grew up in Wisconsin and I can make the statement that there is no other place like it in North America for alcohol consumption...none when we were at UW it was not unusual for us to drink between 12-18 cans of beer on the three hour drive from Madison to where a bunch of us grew up...as the driver passengers always drank more because they had the piss jugg they could use, which was damn hard to do as the driver...you had to hold it in. Try that once...drink 12-18 beers in an three hours without pissing. Its not as easy as you would think it was.

I don't think that's the case at all. First of all, I'm pretty sure maybe one American picked a US city in this thread. So, evidence doesn't bear what you think out (at least with this thread).

What I do think is that the Bumpage forum is full of American posters who talk about what's important to them (namely stuff here). And as far as I can tell, it's okay to be proud of your country and its cities. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; if you want to talk about non-US centric shit, start some threads. I'll gladly discuss. Anyway, your continuous "Americans are stupid" rantings could, potentially, give credence to the idea that you are a typical European who hates Americans.

I am not sorry. I am from Northern Wisconsin and I can tell you the drinking in WI is the worst in the US. I've been just about everwhere in the US and some places in Europe. At my age it is a source of mild embarassment not a source of pride.
