If it was before your time then maybe you should have read up on it before trying to site it as evidence of someone "getting off scott free"

DH has been the guinea pig of farming cases, and has evaded them because as of the rules current state he is operating by them. And this is all stated in that thread. While most don't agree with how he does this, and I am one of those, we cant establish rules and then bend them to form against or for players that we think deserve or don't deserve it.

In my opinion I would like the farming rules to be re-established and be more clearly concise on what is and isn't allowed. This is often a hot topic between us mods behind the scenes to help make this site better, and I can tell you is often an agenda of other clans to make the site run better. You can feel free to find one of the many threads on it in the suggs & bugs forum and add your insight if you wish.

Why is freestyle still even available to new recruits? Nobody coming to this site is looking for it and my guess is a majority of new recruits who join those games have no idea that it's freestyle or what freestyle is. Not to mention that 95% of the farmers use freestyle to do so. How hard would it be to block this game mode along with the harder maps, team games, etc. that are already hidden?

I agree with AgentSmith, ?s shouldn´t be able to join freestyle. As for this guy farming? it doesn´t really look like it to me. It just looks like he´s opening a specialized map under specialized settings under which he´s fairly experienced to try to make sure he wins most of them, but they´re still open for anyone to join, it´s not like he´s joining games already full of low ranks.

If you open 50 games for 2-4 players all at the same time, chances are a lot of new recruits will enter them, since they will most likely click the "Join a Game" link and find pages and pages of your games. Now I don´t know if that was this player´s intention, if it was it could be considered a way to farm, but as I said, I´m not sure that´s the main intention here.

If anything, this should be easily fixed if the system wouldn´t allow the same player to open more than 4 games with the same map under the same settings in less than 5 minutes.

we are currently looking at a lot of variables in this case to help give us the correct decision.

this is a very good suggestion and to be honest i dont know how hard or easy it is to use filters for new recruits, perhaps suggest this in the suggs forum.

we are still looking into this.

He could be starting the games and sending invites to new recruits. This would keep anyone else from being able to join the game.

I didnt want to post that scenario cause I didnt want to provide that insight out there for others to possibly mimic in the future, but it looks like it came out anyway.

that is a plausible scenario and that would be considered farming new recruits because you are actively making sure your games are filled with new players that are unfamiliar with the inner workings of the site.

this has not been determined as the case here though, not yet at least.

So should new recruits not be able to recieve invites either? I mean, they are the MOST vulnerable group for farmers, and they only remain so for 4 games, so restricting them as much as possible (in their own benefit) might not be so bad.

no one said that this is what he was doing. it is still undetermined, and from my point of view I think I have seen consistency across the board on punishments for offenders found Guilty.

So rest assured it wont be good for one and not for another, if he is found Guilty of farming he will be held accountable as per the guidelines.

lol ok no harm in this forgiven one but i looked at the first page of join a game to see about 10 monster freestyle 5 player games. are you farming. i guess you are not.

I was looking... I thought "you know maybe this montreal map is a new player magnet ." But there are like 2 pending games on that map total and no new players.
So then I was like, hell maybe 5 man esc in general are new player magnets... nadda.

I dont believe in this type of improbability... He either sent invites or he is a multi. Hope you guys bust him.

Making forums interesting again. A nice farming stoush. Has been boring now that there aren't 20new accusations of feudal farming every week.

Sadly the accused seems to be operating within the rules. So if the rules are now being fairly applied (rather than selectively...) he should be safe.
