My God you're stupid..Titanic wrote:Iran is protecting Al-Qaida? Yer right, about as likely as Israel is protecting them. Oh and Turkey, the NATO, OECD nation, and EU candidate country, who has been the target of many extremist attacks is now befriending Iran and fully knows about these hiding places?

There are plenty of people who would give him sanctuary in Pakistan, and he may or may not have been there. With that said, I think the guy moves around, and I do think that there's reason to consider that he may be in Iran.
It's shocking how little consideration is given to this possibility and how quickly people dismiss it. Assuming that he could forge a deal with the Iranian leadership, and I think they have enough in common that such an alliance is likely, it would be the perfect spot for him..
.. and his whole frikken family that we already know is there.
Who gives a damn about his family. He has like 40 siblings, and most of them work for the Bin Laden construction business which is fcking huge. They've already disowned him for years now. Also, Iran is hated as much as the USA by groups like Al-Qaida and the Taliban, why do you think Iran pretty much gave the USA the blueprint in how to conquer Afghanistan after the US militray faltered in the first few weeks of the invasion? Their theological beliefs are complete opposite, Shia vs Sunni.GabonX wrote: It's common knowledge that Iran is protecting the bulk of bin Laden's family. The idea that bin Laden himself may be provided those same protections really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. They have common enemies and similar (though admittedly not identical) radical theological beliefs. Throw in that that Western Intelligence doesn't seem to have any fucking clue where the man is, and Iran actually seems like a pretty damn likely candidate..
.. Keep in mind that this is coming from a source which accurately predicted in 2000 that Al Qaeda was plotting to fly air airplanes into the World Trade Center buildings. I'm sure it sounded like a CrAZY conspiracy at the time, but they were proven correct in less than a year.
Also, if you haven't been paying attention to the growing economic and military ties between Turkey and Iran, you haven't been paying attention.
I fully agree. Each time he moves, he would need a network. A travel agent, a destination,.. supplies. If even one person knows where he is, that's too many people. By now someone would have given him up on purpose (for a reward) or on accident (bye mom I'm going to the mountains fro a week or two). There are just too many people there (from bounty hunters to war lords) who have and do capture people and turn them over to the US because of the rewards they hope to get. Bin Laden would be worth a king's ransom.army of nobunaga wrote: Man, from my work experience and what Ive seen, i will say this with a pretty high accuracy percentage- Bin Laden does NOT move around.
A travel agent? Supplies? I doubt they would ever get a "travel agent," and it is not like they need toilet paper or toothpaste.Juan_Bottom wrote:I fully agree. We've captured insurgence that have been shown in Bin Laden videos too. We still don't have him.
IF Osama is in Iran, I find it dubious to think that anyone in a position of authority in their government could know about it. Again, if the right person gets a wind of it, there would be nothing to stop them from walking into the American Embassy in Jordan, or where ever, and claiming the reward. I can't see them calling a newspaper instead. Though stranger things have happened.
& That's not to mention all the badass spying we've done there. We don't have a man in every room so-to-speak, but the US does payout for good intelligence.
And about his family, they don't like him and as far as I know, most are watched bye rookie agents just-in-case. He hasn't had any close ties to his family in too long a time.
He does move around a little possibly. There was some intelligence that he was just east of Kandahar privince in a small town which completely threw the intelligence assumption that he was in the NWFP in Pakistan, with the possible explanation after that he had probably moved due to the drone strikes in Pakistan, but were still extremely limited in Southern Afghanistan, especially in areas with little western influence or intelligence gathering.Juan_Bottom wrote:I fully agree.
