Chariot of Fire wrote:Thanks striker. I reckon 24-15 looks more likely, with one in the balance. At one stage a tie looked feasible, but a string of results on those dodgy maps (AoR, Imperium, Poland x 2, New World) all went our way and were probably enough to settle this encounter.

Yeah, don't get me started! First, homeless bugs out in Brazil. Then Snake accidentally ends attacks on AoR3. Then Ralph doesn't read the chat in New World. Then JC has some mishap with his snapshot on the Ardennes map. These are the kind of mistakes we just couldn't afford to make...and you guys made us pay for each and every one of them. Well done. I have it at 23-17 most likely. Oh, well.

I'm going to call it 40 - 0 Legion.
Hows THAT for propaganda!

lol for a more realistic guess I'll call this one a close one at: 23-17 Legion. ;)

I made a War Banner too!!! Took the liberty of putting the TOFU stamp on

:D Good challenge Legion.

Dai_atan wrote:you know it's funny how you're being sarcastic about this, implying that we're an insignificant rung on your climb up the ConquerCup ladder. It's funny because we're putting up a pretty close fight. It's funny because the Seeded 10 clan is giving the seeded 2 clan a real challenge.
It's funny for a lot of reasons, but none of the reasons you intended.

My advice? Go back to watching grown men pretend to fight each other and hurl embarrassing scripted slurs at one another.

It's funny when you guys get beat by a superior clan. It's also funny when y'all made those silly predictions. It's funny rereading this thread. Jcstriker is really really funny.

Ya know what's not funny? Waiting 2 hours to get seated at a restaraunt. Never vacation in Hawaii. Oh tomorrow (today?) is Monday? That's funny too.

Thanks for the challenge folks, you fellas made it real fun with the trash talking. Good luck on yer future endeavors. Aloha, and adios.
No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.

Until I see the 21st game in our win column I won't count you guys out, but I will say you all played a great challenge and are undoubtedly a top 10 clan. I enjoyed the pre-game trash talk a lot. Good series guys.

jpeter's very kind - the ultimate 'all-round nice guy'. I have to agree that you guys have given us our toughest challenge to date and that your teamwork and moves on the board have almost always been flawless - and you play very well in fog. There were a few blemishes which cheme alluded to and which undoubtedly threw a few games our way (he's obviously kinder than I, as I'd kick people out for less coz I don't tolerate incompetence). Had those been played properly then this could well have gone your way, or a draw at least.

I'd like to say 'Top 10' too but I can't. With success comes respect and humility and there was very little of that shown in the opening exchanges. Personally I can't stand trash talk but then I guess I'm an old git with English reserve - something I'm not in any hurry to change. I just thank God we're going to win this challenge because I know full well we'd never have heard the last of it for years to come - that's just the nature of the beast that is Legion.

But a good battle nevertheless - and many moves that have taxed me more than in any usual encounter, thus I applaud you for your knowledge and your spirit. Well done.

Thank you CoF. Coming from a player of your caliber, that is a gr8 compliment.

I agree. However, the Legion is like a family. Most of us are related or friends in the real world, and those that are not have become friends over time. We will continue to work together to iron out the kinks and be ready for the next Cup.

Si, you should know that it is all in good fun. This was a war after all...but you are right, you probably never would have heard the end of it ;) Oh, and this admonishment coming from a clan that made their first password "I love tofu cock" cracks me up!

We had fun. We knew that to win we had to be mistake free...and that even then it might no be enough. Very well played.

Oh, and boo hoo :D

Another tough day in the office I see cheme. Don't they have criminals or miscreants in your neck of the woods, or are you all related there too? ;-)

Thanks for the neat response. I appreciate it was all in good fun - I'm all the wiser for it in my gameplay, my knowledge of trash, and even in the vernacular 'strange'. Good job fellas.

You are old English Reserve, and we are young brash Americans.. (for the most part).. and the talk was all in good fun.. rally the troops, sound the horns... you know.. all the good stuff that comes before the death that war brings :D

Great Challenge so far! and very well played on your part as well!

Anyone who has played team games in sports is used to it - you fight hard on the field, try to kill each other, then have a beer together afterwards. It's part of competition. Impressive showing by both clans here, I think Legion has proved their point and I think TOFU is still on track to win the whole thing. Well done.

I see you rule with an iron fist! I would think the fear of castigation would make games stressful and much less fun. Though perhaps not everyone has the fragile, easily-crushable spirit that I do. :)

Anyway, well done TOFU!

Perhaps we will we be fortunate enough to prevail over EMPIRE and meet you in the semis!

That would be one hell of the battle I must say. You or EMPIRE - both clans have awesome players and records.

You want fun?....go and play any other game on CC with you and your buddies. You want to represent a clan in an important game and do your best for your team mates?...then don't come with a gun half-cocked or a brain half-witted and let the side down. Of all the games in anyone's playlist how many are crucial? Not many (as a rule) so it shouldn't take much to pay proper attention to detail. Yes, I'm a tyrant, but I like to think players improve under my steely gaze coz I'm not abashed to point out errors.

You partner rabbiton for heaven's sake - you of all people should know what it means to always be perfect :D

gl reaching the semis too - I'm at odds as to whom I'd rather meet (neither preferably, lol)

If you prefer...I can go back to being an obnoxious a$$hole... but you may like that too much... Seeing as you prefer bending over for others :o ... Is that better 8-)

Hey now, I believe that challenging, crucial games can also be fun. And in fact, if crucial clan games were not fun and enjoyable for me, I wouldn't play them! Obviously I also do think that focus and attention to detail are required, and that half-witted mistakes are unacceptable. My comment was mostly in response to your statement that you would kick people out for making dumb mistakes! So really, if I were to make a new signature to symbolize my philosophy here, I would do it like so:

FOXGLOVE LIKES:
[x] Fun! Whee!
[x] A challenge.
[ ] Mistakes. Boo. :(

Chariot of Fire wrote:Yes, I'm a tyrant, but I like to think players improve under my steely gaze coz I'm not abashed to point out errors.

Well that is definitely one way to help people improve. Though perhaps some people are equally amenable to corrections and suggestions without the steely gaze. I like to learn in a friendly environment, myself. :) But I readily concede - I am probably atypical here!

Chariot of Fire wrote:You partner rabbiton for heaven's sake - you of all people should know what it means to always be perfect :D

Well, while he is indeed amazing, even he is not perfect.

Well, it is more fun to talk trash during a war don't you think? But after the dust settles, we are just a bunch of gamers who enjoyed a fun war and plan on seeing our foes from this war again in the future. So there is no point in keeping up the (sometimes just plain obnoxious) banter when we have been beaten. Of course, had we won, we would be doing the same thing. There is no "I hate TOFU" thread in the Legion forum (yet ;) ), and no one from your clan is going on our foe lists after this war. Hell, it is exactly the opposite, trap may even make my "friend" list after I was forced to remove him from my foe list before this war started :D

Anyway, it was a well played war by TOFU. Should THOTA fall to Nemesis then they are a deserving #1 Clan. =D> =D> =D>

Now excuse me, I have to go spam some TOFU players' walls with hate speech

Woo Goo.

+1 on the adding Trap as a friend, he is a pretty cool guy when he isnt blasting you with flames.
Dako he may be the singular exception to you, but he makes up for your clans lack of exuberance quite nicely.

CoF, saying we arn't top 10 because we're boisterous? have you looked at the clans that are ranked in the top 10 lately?

well fought everyone. It saddens me I was away for the end of this (still away now, stupid house moving.)
