Why? If YOU take Europe in Classic do you think it's important that everyone else knows?Army of GOD wrote:I think it's important to be able to give out where someone is and what they're doing.
If someone takes Europe in Classic, I make sure everyone else knows.
No, but I'm not going to whine if someone else says that I own it in the chat.jrh_cardinal wrote:Why? If YOU take Europe in Classic do you think it's important that everyone else knows?Army of GOD wrote:I think it's important to be able to give out where someone is and what they're doing.

Also you never know what information is true so it can be a strategy to give someone false informationsafariguy5 wrote:Is sharing information in game chat frowned upon? Yes.
Is it against the rules and guidelines? No.
I don't deny that sharing information with other players is not sporting, but really, can you expect the mods and admins to police this? It's inherent in the format. I'm sure people want to enjoy fog games, they add an extra level of strategy to the game. I would suggest playing team games or large 6-8 player games where multiple people probably know the same things. If it's not illegal, don't expect much action against it.
I can't recall been involved in a game where that has been the case and I almost always play Fog games. Usually the information which is normally very accurate comes streaming out because people are aware they're going to lose soon and for want of a better word it's vindictive. In fact that's the exact word, there isn't a better one!ljex wrote: Also you never know what information is true so it can be a strategy to give someone false information
I can't see how there is more to it? Once you have that information which you wouldn't be privvy to if indeed the map remained Foggy, all it takes is anyone with half an ounce of understanding of the game log to have a quick check through it and combined with all the info at your disposal already it's very easy to bring up an unfoggy picture in your head.Army of GOD wrote:
It's a matter of preference. I don't think that giving out players' locations/bonuses in the Game Chat is at all like a sunny game. There's more to it.

The game could automatically post "gl" and "gg" on behalf of all the players...
