Taking a look at this. For now to prevent any further abuse I have blocked these two accounts from playing together.

Hard to find a more obvious case of points dumping/farming/cheating (whatever you wanna call this) than that. I'd say reset both their accounts to NR, or at least the higher ranker who gained from this.

I don't see a reason to reset Shank1970 back to NR. Maybe back to his original score before Matt joined the games, but not to NR.

And resetting matt won't do anything. Maybe a warning or a vacation for his actions.

Well fine, but I was under the impression they can't dock points in that manner, it's a reset or nothing at all. That said, say they can take away the exact points he's gained by cheating, that's not really much of a punishment is it. Somthing else needs to be added, a vacation as you suggested, a strip of premium perhaps, I dunno.
I still like the reset option. That will deter people from doing this. whats the point of gaining 200 points at the risk of being reset?

The farmers want easy points, best punishment, make them start from square 1 every time.

Shank1970- account sitting abuse (closed)lv

Post by Matt2006 »

My name is Matt2006 in CC and last Tuesday I played a Double Automatic Sequential game (7446695) with Shank 1970 as partner. I didn´t have enough time to complete the game so I gave him my password so he could finish it, which he did. I gave him my password because I had played several times before wit h him and he looked like a decent guy.

Well, I was completely wrong. Last night, UK time, he logged in again using my account without my permission, and he opened 19! individidual classic games for two players (him and me) without my permission (I was sleeping by them) and played them. He was effectively controlling both his account and mine. Well, he was so stupid that he didn´t make any movement with my account, except with the first one. Thinking that he was acting with total impunity, he stopped doing any movement, so in the rest of the games, I "quitted" in all of them. The funny thing is that despite I was not doing any movement, I kept "joining" game after game that Shank1970 proposed.

Just imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning! I felt furious and betrayed, and stolen! 190 points stole me!

I hope CC can solve this problem very soon, which can be easily checked in my Games Played list, because what he did is extremely serious. Not only he stole my account and stole my points, but also broke the trust bond between players. I think this kind of behaviour should be severely punished. Needless to say, I will change my password right now.

In the meantime, beware SHANK1970 as he is an identity THIEF.

Good to see the warning, but frankly...you have reaped what you have sown. To give someone your password temporarily is fine, but to be so stupid as to not change it after the fact is...inexcusable.

Well whether this was done with permission or not, I still say Strip the guy of premium and give him a vacation, if not throw him out head first.

PS; if you STILL haven't changed your password, uh... go do it.

My question is...is this simply an attempt by Matt to try to avoid punishment for getting caught with the point-dumping? I'm not at all saying that IS what's happening and Matt may very well be completely innocent of everything but stupidity, so that's not an accusation. But it was the very first thing that came to mind, based on the fact that they had been turned into this forum for cheating prior to this post and I think it should legitimately be viewed from that position.

Either way though doesn't make Shank1970 any less guilty.

Well, I'm sure the Multi Hunters can find what IP the accused is using, and see if his IP comes up during the date Matt is talking about.

Then again, i have no clue if they can determine what days IP's are used, but i think you could be able to.

But the thing is, Matt joined shank's games, so he couldn't control the fact that He started deadbeating on him, could he?

If the multi-hunters can't do something as basic as looking at IP logs (which certainly would show that), then lack and Andy are idiots who are wasting the multi-hunters' time.

Nah more like i'm the idiot :P

But yeah, this could be either or. Him lieing trying to get off scot-free, or he's actually telling the truth. We'll have to wait for a MH to come down with an answer.

i figure matt didnt want to lose his points anymore then anyone else would, especially in that fashion.. seems to me that he has learned a lesson and took a penalty in the process.. we all make mistakes.. my personal opinion would be a point reset for the guy that stole 300-400points from matt...

What I have been reading here is incredible. So, I am stolen my account, stolen my points and I am guilty too? Some people here talk too much too soon. Big mouths, who should wait to know all the facts before giving an opinion!!!

Of course, if you are 14 years old, you cannot expect to be very smart... but some older people who are giving stupid opinions should know better... and still they are talking rubish... What a pity...

Yes, I am guilty to have given my password to someone who didn´t deserve my trust. And yes, I am guilty of having a life (unlike some of the guys who are talking too much here) and not having enough time to rechange my password...

Otherwise, as I said before, some people should put your tongue....

You don't appear to have read what is written here very well, to have taken this opinion. I recognize that English doesn't appear to be your primary language, but I and everyone else here actually seems to have gone out of their way to make the point that you're not necessarily guilty of anything. Geez.

Unless, of course, you're whining about being called stupid for not changing your password. If that's the case, then tough shit...it was stupid.
